I don't know what clone campaigns are - but I highly doubt the crash is
related to the campaign itself, unless you have hacked the game or
something.
I have seen this problem on a fairly modern laptop - and tried to rule out
overheating.
After putting a giant floor fan under my rig, and trying to play SC - I
finally concluded it was some freak bug and gave up.
We think it might be related to the video driver, but we can't be sure. It
was an ATI Mobility Radeon laptop video card. We never found a solution
The things we tried - you can also try, but it didn't help us:
We tried turning off all antivirus, spyware
We tried changing the shared memory usage
Running diagnostic memory viability tests
Updating to the latest video display drivers
Using the fan as aforementioned
I did everything I could think of to rule out bad memory, including removing
alternating memory sticks - this didn't work.
The same computer will play War III albeit with low display settings and
diablo
