What's wrong with PSOBB?

Does anyone out there play PSOBB?

I've downloaded the software and tried numerous times to register but I
never get an email response so that I can buy a hunters license.

I've thought about buying a broadband adapter for my GC and playing there,
but I'm not sure how many people still play or how bad the cheating is.
Don't want to spend the money on the broadband adapter and find out it's not
worth it.

I could buy and play it on my Xbox, but I'm afraid it might be the same
situation. After I bought a copy of the game, and then Xbox Live, and then a
hunters license, I would find out nobody would be playing or everything
would be hacked like back in the DC days.

Any advice?
