This is not true. The client does different stuff depending on your
"skin" or model. For example, if you're playing a Tauren or Night-Elf,
the two tallest races pre-TBC (are draenei and/or blood-elves taller?)
and if you were for example wearing a big weapon, you quite often could
get into troubles entering some doors without hanging a bit in the
doorframe. This never happens to smaller chars. So there is one
difference here already. There are others and they are clearly exploits,
so I won't go into that.
You must know that in WoW, the client does a huge amount of work.
Changig certain stuff on the client does influence what can happen and
this is depending on the result, outright cheating and exploiting.
Therefor, it isn't allowed. And the client can very well hash (checksum)
the files in use and detect when you do this. It is grounds for banning,
temporary or permanent.
Don't do it if you value your account.
