All modellers and gamers should be wary of an individual named Martin
Beyst who trades under the name of SteelDog (steeldog.info) who
purports to supply DVDs demonstrating figure painting techniques. He
does not deliver the goods. I have had a complaint against him upheld
by PayPal but unfortunately have not been able to recover any funds.

Thanks for the tip. I was seriously thinking of getting one of his DVDs, but
the price in US$ was too expensive for me. Did he just take your money and
that was it, no DVD or did he give you the run-around trying to get it?

Thanks again for the warning.

'Duh' on my part. Missed that you said the Paypal complaint was
upheld. He either has no money in his paypal account or has closed it.

Sorry for misreading that.

Since he seems to be shady at best, do you know of any other "How-to" DVDs
that are any good?

Wish I did. I find watching things the best way to learn and am
actively searching for a replacement DVD to the one that never came.
If you find any, let me know!

KInd regards

hi this is Martin we had some problems with order fulfilment particularly when posting to the USA.

First let me apologise and assure you I have no intention of conning anyone. PayPal will always act on behalf of the customer and you should always be able to recover your funds.

Royal mail and customs and let us down quite regularly and I am simply not organised enough to start making claims.

Posting DVDs has just become too much hassle even if they do arrive they sometimes broken even when packaged properly

A friend of mine provided me with some hosting space unfortunately he forgot to let me know that the bandwidth had been exceeded and website deleted so this caused much confusion.

If you give me your PayPal reference I will research it for you and be able to provide you with the download links as we find this a much better solution than posting the physical DVDs.

I'm currently trying to put together a simple order page I can't afford to pay someone a fortune to design a website.

I will also be putting the last few DVDs we have on eBay probably for sale in the UK only as reliable postage to the US is now around eight pounds.
