16 bit Windows Subsystem
c:windows\system32\autoexec.nt.
The system file is not suitable for running MS DOS and Microsoft
Windows
applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application.
I continue to recieve this message every time that I attempt to install
the ORIGINAL Sims game - The Sims. I have tried installing a DOSbox,
but there is no hope of that working. It still continues to issue the
message on the screen. I have had The Sims installed on this particular
computer before, when we first purchased the computer. Since we
purchased the computer, maybe four to five years ago, I have installed
the SIMS 2. Does this throw off the ability of the computer to install
the older versions of the sims? I believe it is a Microsoft Windows
98/200, or maybe Microsoft Windows XP, system.HOWEVER, I KNOW FOR A
FACT THAT I HAD THE ORIGINAL SIMS GAME INSTALLED ON THIS COMPUTER AT
least A YEAR AGO, so it shoudl install on the computer now.
We do not know if maybe we deleted and installation program or if the
game is being temperamental, but we must have these games installed on
this computer soon. I am growing tired of the SIMS 2...adn I know the
original Sims game was on the computer as long ago as the winter of
2004 (2 yrs.) - so this game SHOULD install on my computer.
The DOSBOX results in the same errors and is not fixing my computer.
Also, if I click "ignore" it also exits out of the installation screen.
There only pops up the "autoplay" installation screen. If there is a
virus on our computer, we would have found it. It also seems that
random things get deleted...but the game SHOULD RUN, by all means, so I
am out of ideas on how to fix it. >> Stay informed about: "c:/windows/system32/autoexec.nt" - ERROR! HOW DO I GET TH.. |

The only thing I can suggest is that you try running the Sims Eraser utility
program, which you will find at www.thesims.ea.com -- look under utilities.
It's possible that there is still something from the game lurking in your
registry and it has to be removed before the game will reinstall. I don't
remember ever seeing that particular error message, though, but this might
still be worth a try.

It has happened to me several times, especially after installing Service Pack 2.
It's probably typically me, every time I install a service pack or a patch I get
trouble:-) >> Stay informed about: "c:/windows/system32/autoexec.nt" - ERROR! HOW DO I GET TH.. |
