Well, looking at 2 websites the only version that includes the Dualshock3
is the new version with MGS4. Unless their descriptions haven't been
updated perhaps...

Have fun with it. Still think the PS3 has not yet quite "arrived", but
it will, so I wouldn't worry about that. And if you want a Blu-ray
player right now, you gotta go with the PS3.

You do know you can do HD without an HDMI cable, right? I'm not dissing
an HDMI cable at all, but there are cheaper options. I personally have
the HDMI cable.

Me, too. There is no other way to do Blu-ray for me at this time. Once
Blu-ray is as cheap as DVD, I'll start buying stuff. Until then, you
gotta Netflix stuff.

Really? I've be Blu-raying things there for awhile now. Of course
Netflix is gonna support Blu-ray!

It's not like a HDMI cable is expensive, unless you get fooled into
buying one of the pointlessly expensive ones.

Yes...and no...

Component will carry up to 1080p - if your TV supports it.

HOWEVER, component will NOT do HDCP. Trying to watch a blu-ray with HDCP
using component will force the player to downscale the video output to
something weird like 540p - not even HD at that point.

As for price....a Sony brand component video cable for the PS3 is $35. A HDMI
cable from Frys is $8.

It's not broken. It's...advanced.

But you're leaving out the Sony brand HDMI cable, which is the real
apples to apples comparison.

I'm guessing that you have to get the Sony brand component and you don't
have to get the Sony brand HDMI? If so, I guess the comparison makes
sense (and would definitely support the HDMI option).
