I've been putting these in my keepers over the years and a few
restoration projects. Early ones a few years back didn't have the same
mounting holes as GO-7's and their sort. I've noticed the Vision Pro
monitors I've received in the past year lined right up though.
A couple tips I've discovered: you can unplug the 120v pigtail from a
WG4600 and it will plug right into your Vision Pro resulting in a nice
OEM looing installation w/o any hacking. You can also install a Vision
Pro in a Midway cocktail cab with a couple easy mods. First carefully
swap out the tubes, the ears are the same dimensions as vintage stuff,
then bend the chassis mounting tabs flush (where the 1/4" self tapping
screws normally go) and position the new chassis and mark the mounting
holes. Carefully drill the chassis mounting frame, install the chassis
and you're good to go.
It's less hazardous to mount the chassis while the tube is out of the
frame so the drill doesn't strike the neck if the bit bites, but you
need to be aware of clearance since the Vision Pro has the flyback in a
different forward location than a GO-7 and some wiring connectors are
fairly short. After doing this a few times, it only takes me 20
minutes or so now, I don't even unplug the chassis from the tube
anymore.
