Whenever a teammate or someone talks using the chat feature my sound goes
dead even though the chat option is disabled in the settings menue. What
gives?

If I understand your question correctly, you want no chat sounds at all?
IIRC, disabling chat only means you will not use it. You will still hear
team chat and public channel chatter.

I've seen that too. It isn't universal... i.e. it only happens on
some servers. That makes me think it's either a misconfigured server
or possibly a version problem.

You can try fiddling around with the other sound options. "Use system
driver" seems to clear up several sound problems.

UCC.exe virus - My McAfee virus scan is saying that my UT2004 UCC.exe is infected with W95/CTX (even on the install disk). I am running the latest McAfee dat file and I am getting a General Protection Fault when I try to decompress a .uz2 file. I built a little utility....
