Currently have an ati 9000 radeon. Have now bought a 9600 pro. Do i have to
completely uninstall the original card first?

You don't need to but it's often wise to completely remove old drivers
before putting in the new.

You may not need to, as your old card is still in the Radeon 9000 series, so
probably uses the same driver set.

Use up to date drivers downloaded from ATI (or the Omega drivers), though, as
the ones in the box will be well out of date and had significant problems (I
know, I have the same card).
