Why? What's the matter? Can't you see the orcas in FSX? You need a
10 screen array for that? More screen just makes the picture stutter
worse. You have 'surround stutter'. You have 'ergonomic errors'.

I recall when big screen TV's came out many years ago and I enquired
as to their advantage and was told by a smart-ass sales clerk that the
worse programs would be even more worse on one of those sets. I
bought one anyway and you know what? He was right.

Well I dont know about 10 but Two would be a good start and three
would be even better.
Two of my 8800 GT's should run them ok without stutter I would think..

I remember changing from a small 4:3 TV to a 36in 16:9 monster CRT TV, for
several days all I could see was the enormous pixels!

I just upgraded from a 21" CRT to a 22" wide screen LCD. It's not quite
as high from top to bottom (about 11" vs. 12" for the CRT) but it's
wider (16:10 aspect ratio) and the games look great on it. 2 ms
response time and 10000:1 contrast ratio. LG L227WTG. I can pick out
individual pixels, especially when reading some fonts but for the most
part I don't see them as they are particularly tiny.

I didn't do that, but I did change the resolution to match the screen's
ideal resolution: 1680x1050. But lemme check on the file.

<looking>

I don't see "widescreen" anywhere. I do see "WideViewAspect" and it's
set to "False". It's the only item that has the word "wide" in it. Is
that what you mean?

Yep, you're right. It makes a lot of difference. Although circles are

Hi All;
I have a 32" TV (1080P) and am running FSX at 1920x1080 with the
WideViewAspect set to True. Nonetheless, my guages still show as nicely
shaped eggs vice the highly probable circular shape. The display generally
looks great and Windows XP seems happy with the 1080P setup, but FSX,
dispite being set up at 1080x1920 has those issues.

Any thoughts on how to resolve?

Circles? Tom is talking about egg shaped gauges is that what you mean? I
don't seem to have that problem. I pretty much just fly the Real Air Scout
package tho. Gauges are perfect. Same res as you (1680x1050), usually fly
full screen.

For sure you have to set it to it's native resolution, which you have. I
use the digital cable, not the 15 pin D-Sub on a Nvidia 8800 GTS. From the
web your monitor looks pretty fancy... maybe you have something set in it?

Yep, for instance the clock in the Lear 45 is a squashed circle. It
doesn't seem to matter if I run full screen or windowed. (When I run
windowed mode I maximize the window.) The monitor only came with the
analog cable but next month I shall be purchasing a DVI-I cable to do
the job.

Yes, it's got some interesting settings if you use their software, but
unfortunately it's got problems (it changes resolution at random times
and when coming back from games that don't run at the native resolution)
and I'm awaiting help from tech support. (I sent them my problem 4 days
ago.) They have a newer version of the software (called Forte Manager)
but it doesn't seem to want to allow me to select any options. Their
web page says that it's compatible with my monitor, so I don't know
what's going on.

All that said, I still like setting WideViewAspect to True as it does
afford me a better view of the scenery.

Ah, I see what the problem is after a quick view of what's going on. I
see the squashed circles on the 2D panel, not the 3D panel. (Google is
my friend.) It seems that the 2D panel cannot be adapted on the fly
like the 3D panel can, so it's really just a stretched out 4:3 bitmap.
