I was just wondering.
When a vamp with a printed title gains another title (be it a smaller
or larger one) then loses the new tityle later, does he gain back his
printed one or is he now a title-less vamp?
Say I played a Kholo card on a Magaji, and the next turn I bring out a
older title-less vamp. The Kholo shifts to the older vamp, that i
know, but will my Magaji become a magaji again?

No. The old title was lost as soon as the new one was gained. There is no
mechanism to recover the lost title.

I know a trip through the ash heap would do it, but what about
Banished and then returned to play?

but what about Indy titles (Thetmes: 2 votes) that go dormant? how did
that go again?
if Thetmes goes Into the Fire and becomes Sabbat, and then becomes an

No. Banishment works like contesting in that regard -- the
effects are remembered.

Similarly, it didn't force a weenie Prince with a Praxis Seizure to lose
his title and other badness like that - which is now less of an issue
with Title cards, but used to be a potential issue.

"Me has 2 votes" titles aren't tied to being independent, so they never go dormant.
