I have been hearing about re5 being like re4, and here's things i hope
are changed, or taken out of re5 to make the game more fun
no contact senstive action scenes, i hate having to outrun those
boulders, and at the last minute have to hit the right buttons to dodge
it, not to mentioned the knife fight with Krauser
a seperate contact sensitive action button, that may let you exucute
mele moves instead of having you fire your gun everytime
amrour/clothing: find clothing in the game that acts as armor lessening
the damage recieved by zombies/enemies
more mele weapons: would like to see more mele weapons maybe larger
knifes/swords
keep mele weapon ready button: it was nice to have the L button draw
your knife, so you can bust open a box >> Stay informed about: thoughts about RE 5 |

I think that most people enjoy these. I certainly liked the novelty of it
myself, especially the knife fight. Certainly most RE4 reviews praised this.

Did you not buy the armor upgrade from the merchant in RE4? Or are you only
saying that "yes this was a good idea, keep it for RE5"?

I know a lot of people (and critics) liked this, but I hated it. I
don't know how many times I was crushed by the boulders because I didn't
hit the right button combination fast enough. If they *must* keep this,
at least make it the same button every time.

I like the idea of finding armor, rather than having to buy it. Replace
the treasure hunt with things that're actually useful, like weapons and
armor.

I like this idea, too. The demo, short as it was, was great because of
the melee weapon ready button.
To this list, I'd add: Ditch the treasure hunting. Get rid of the
merchant. Everything you need (or want) should be found within the game
itself. >> Stay informed about: thoughts about RE 5 |

I rather enjoyed the merchant. I liked the idea of being able to buy
something I wanted at several different places (the merchant locations)
instead of having the one weapon only available in the one spot. We would
have to carry everything, or decide which things we wanted and discard the
rest. I personally wouldn't want to cycle through that many different
weapons in my inventory to get to the one I wanted. I like your idea of
finding things we need. Perhaps they could compromise - find the weapons and
buy the upgrades from the merchant. >> Stay informed about: thoughts about RE 5 |

Now that I think of it, I did rather like the upgrades. And I suppose I
wouldn't mind being able to sell old weapons to the merchant, rather
than leaving them in a storage box (or dropping them at random
locations, like in RE-0). I know inventory management has always been a
big factor in the RE games, and will probably remain so (the unlimited
inventory of RE: Survivor became rather cumbersome, to say the least).
And while I still couldn't fit everything I wanted in the largest of the
inventory cases in RE5 (dunno how many times I had to pass up on
ammunition of some sort), I did really like that you could upgrade it, too.
So I guess the treasure hunting can stay. At least the merchant appears
at regular intervals, unlike the old Diablo I played on my Playstation,
back in the day, where you had to drag everything back to the village to
sell. That became a major pain in the butt! >> Stay informed about: thoughts about RE 5 |

If you think about it the merchant is an expensive "item box". Once the
weapon is in there it is always available (you can buy it at a high price).
I sure wish I could've bought ammo from him on my first trip through! Did
you noticed if you sold him a first aid spray the quantity of first aid
sprays available to buy increased? >> Stay informed about: thoughts about RE 5 |

I didn't notice that, no. I'll hafta try it and see. Here's something
I'd like to see though -- an item box for ammo. Or rather, a bunch of
them, connected like the old games. And I wouldn't mind being able to
sell and buy ammo from the merchant. >> Stay informed about: thoughts about RE 5 |

I'm not entirely sure about the first-aid sprays adding up because you sell
them, but on my fourth replay I noticed I could buy 110 first aid sprays. On
the first trip I could only buy two. I'm assuming it's because I sell them
back. I also sell back all the triple heals (red, green, and yellow), maybe
they are adding in there too. I'd love to see an extra storage space to
carry all of the ammo I find. Or, it should simply take up only two spaces
and have no limit on the quantity. On my first trip through the game I would
have killed (????) to be able to buy ammo. On my third trip through I would
have killed (????) for the space to carry all the extra ammo I was finding.
Why are we gamers never happy? I'm sure if games had everything in them we
wanted, we would still find something to complain about. >> Stay informed about: thoughts about RE 5 |

So true! And I really hate leaving anything behind, in any of the RE
games. When I first started playing the original on Playstation, I'd
collect and combine every single herb (even the blue ones) and store
them in storage boxes, even after I had the unlimited rocket launcher
and rarely got hurt. The box would be overflowing with herbs and first
aid sprays. And on my first few trips through RE4, I picked up every
bit of ammo as well, even for weapons I didn't have and didn't plan to
buy (though at least I could sell that ammo to the merchant and buy
upgrades to the weapons I did keep). But you're right, even if we had
unlimited space to carry...everything we wanted, we'd still find
something to complain about. But that's a good thing. If the world
were perfect, imagine how boring life would be! >> Stay informed about: thoughts about RE 5 |

I never noticed till you mentioned about over flowing item boxes. Why did I
pick up all those extra herbs, take the time to combine them, and then
carefully organize them in the item boxes? Perhaps it's because I couldn't
find enough of them on the first time through that I've developed some kind
of hoarding fear. (better grab it just in case). I think we all just make
comments (complaints) about games so we can feel like we're apart of it and
not just consumers. >> Stay informed about: thoughts about RE 5 |
