Archived from groups: alt>games>elder-scrolls (more info?)

I've been in everything; Knights of Nine, Shivering Islands, and since I
have nothing else to do, I decided to do a sweep of the temples in Oblivion.

Their is this temple I have never found a way to get into -- "Anga". It has
this large stone leaning against the front door. I assumed that it involved
some type of quest yet not done. But I have done everything I know of, so I
am still wanting to know what have I messed?

Does anyone know how to get into the temple Anga? What am I messing?

Thanks William

Hi,

Anga's temple is a part of Namira's quest
If you want to enter the temple you have to go to Namira's Shrine and talk
to a guy there
For lowering your pesonality drink cheap wine Wink

I can't get my personality down low enough. It is currently at 100. The
most cheep wine I can drink is 5 bottles, or -50 points on the personality
numbers. Then their is this minor attribute I picked up in Shivering
Islands that I can cast that has a -20 hit I can use.

This still leaves me at +30 on the personality level and the lady at the
shrine says I still can't approach the shrine. (Now I remember why I skipped
that quest the first time.)

I've tried making poisons, but they only give me -3 on the personality.
Worse than cheep wine. I don't know what to do next. I guess I'll keep an
eye out for something that will take another 30 points off of my personality
as I continue to play the game.

Thank you everyone. William

Hope this helps

Reducing your Personality
Drinking cheap wine is definitely the easiest way to reduce your
personality. But if you need to reduce your personality by more than 40
points, here are some options (all of which can be done in conjunction with
drinking cheap wine). You can also hotkey cheap wine to keep using it.

a.. The Drink More than Four Potions exploit makes it possible to drink
more than four cheap wines at once, by quickly closing and opening your
inventory after drinking the first four. If you don't mind taking advantage
of exploits, this provides an easy solution.
b.. You can buy one of several unique items available in stores:
a.. Helm of Ferocity is a helmet that has a constant effect Drain
Personality of 5 pts.
b.. Document of Puerile Banter is a scroll that provides, among other
effects, a Drain Personality of 50 pts for 150 secs.
c.. Chronicle of Sacrifice is a scroll that provides a Drain Personality
of 50 pts for 30 secs.
c.. You can make your own Damage Personality potions, although this is
tricky:
a.. You need an Alchemy skill level of 50 to be able to recognize the
third effect of ingredients.
b.. You need to also mix in a positive effect so that the resulting
potion is drinkable. Luckily, some of the most common ingredients with
Damage Personality (flour, leeks, pumpkin) automatically give the positive
effect Restore Fatigue.
c.. When making the potion, be sure to not use an alembic (remove it
from your inventory): the alembic will weaken the negative effect you are
trying to achieve.
d.. Effects are cumulative. Damage effects are lasting, unlike Drain
effects which are temporary. A typical potion does 1-2 pts. damage per
second over a few seconds and will result in a total of about 8-16 pts
lasting damage. You may repeatedly drink additional potions to decrease
personality to zero if you so choose.
e.. Use a Chapel or Restore Personality effect to reverse the damage.
d.. A custom Drain Personality on self spell can be made, but only if you
have completed the Repairing the Orrery official plugin or if you are
playing an Orc. This spell allows you to temporarily reduce your personality
instead of permanently damaging it.
e.. If you have completed the Repairing the Orrery quest, the Secunda's
Opportunity greater power will decrease your Personality by 20, while
simultaneously increasing your Luck by 20.
Drink More than Four Potions
It is possible to drink more than four potions at once, if the potions have
a Drain effect (i.e., Ale, Cheap Wine, Mead):

1.. From your inventory, drink four Drain potions.
2.. Quickly close your journal and reopen it.
3.. Drink up to four more Drain potions.
The key to this exploit seems to be the message that appears on your screen
when you drink a potion with a Drain effect (e.g., 'Your personality is
being drained'); until that message disappears the game does not fully
register that the potions have been drunk. As long as you re-enter the
inventory before the message disappears, you can drink more potions. All the
potions do take effect: all are listed on the active effects page, and
attributes are correctly altered. It is possible to have some of the potions
be normal (useful, non-drain) potions, but so far no way has been found to
use this exploit to drink more than four normal potions at once

A different glitch can appear if you create a potion with more than one
effect. When the effect with the shortest duration runs out, you can drink
another potion, even though the other effects from that potion remain
effective. With sufficiently good alchemy apparatus, a 1 sec duration
"poison" effect such as Burden can be added to most potions, enabling new
potions to be consumed after just one second but without causing any
permanent damage.

a.. It is also possible to drink an unlimited amount of potions by simply
equipping them to a hotkey.
