Hey all,

I'm a bit confused, so I hope someone here can help me. Will the new
extended talent trees be released in the next patch, or will it not be bofre
TB comes out?

TIA

I started typing that you won't be able to access them until TBC, but,
now I'm not so sure. If this patch raises the level cap to 70 (which
applies to everybody - not just BC folk), then I'm guessing the talent
trees will also be available.

Can anybody else answer?

The talent trees (with 41-point talents) will be in Patch 2.0.1, and
are accessible to everyone immediately upon patch release.

Levels 61-70 are only available once TBC releases, and are only
available to TBC purchasers.

The four new TBC lowbie zones on Azeroth (two for Draenei, two for
Blood Elves) and all of Outland are also only available once TBC
releases, and are only available to TBC purchasers.

Hope this clears that up.

Wait, that completely goes against what I heard.

I definitely heard that the Outlands would only be available to TBC
purchasers. But, I also read that everybody will get the upped level
cap whether they buy TBC or not (because they would be at a huge
disadvantage in PvP, etc. if this didn't happen).

And Outland is the only place where non-boss mobs over level 62 exist.

Why would they? How would they level? They'll already be at a huge
disadvantage in World PvP, since they don't have the better gear from
Outland... and their far, far slower leveling (if the cap is raised
for everyone, but they only have access to mobs currently existing in
the game).

As for BG PvP, arenas will be matching teams on team "rating", of which
level and gear are components.

On existing BGs, I don't know. My speculation, though, is that they'll
leave the 60 bracket, and add either 61-69 and 70 brackets, or just a
61-70 bracket, to keep TBC players mostly separated by bracket from
non-TBC players.

Remember, unless Blue says we get it regardless of ownership of TBC, we
probably won't, and anyone saying we will is engaging in wishful
thinking, or mistaken. TBC is a commercial product, and it requires
incentives for players to buy it.

It's my understanding that the new talents will be in the next patch.

All the patch notes I've seen indicate that the patch will not raise
the level cap to 70, but the new extended talent trees will be available.

Nik is correct -- at the time of this post Talents will be out next
patch, level cap will be upped to 70 at TBC for those who bought TBC.

It was the original plan everyone could level to 70. Didn't make much
sense to me and eventually to Blizzard, who changed it so only people
who buy TBC can level pass 60.

It's going to be 60-69 and then 70. So, if you are lvl 60 without TBC
you are going to have it tough. Like the guy says, TBC a commercial
product and they want people to buy it so they are putting in positive
advantages to do so and disadvantages for not getting it.

Yes, the new trees will be in - BUT - you can of course not use all of
them since the level cap will remain at 60 until (if) you buy BC.

Its a sort of teaser I guess you could call it.

But mages will be able to respec as Ice and get their new pet Smile

Not really - if you want to get a 41 point talent, you will be able to. For
warlocks at least, there are good builds if you do this to any of the
trees. *

Yup, I'm looking forward to getting my 41-point beastmaster build on my
hunter - only half a level to go until I can actually get 41 points, should
do that in plenty of time Smile

Even more what? These trees ARE the BC trees. The only difference is 10
more points to spend as you level. *

I believe that's what he meant to say.

Note though that the trees and skills we get this week, aren't necessary
final. They will continue to tweak and change until TBC release and then
we're going to be switched to that.

That means, with the patch what we'll get is slighty more actual than
currently on TBC beta which is I believe a bit ahead of the PTR.

Afterwards on live it will stay that way, unless a big error forces a
hotfix, while the PTR and TBC beta are going through additional steps
and thus becoming "more actual" than live.

And in the end at the TBC release, we'll get the final TBC beta trees,
skills and coefficients.

At least that's what's planned.
