Archived from groups: alt>games>warcraft (more info?)

I'll be hitting 41 tonight and I'm wondering where I should put my next
few points. As it stands now, I'm in the BM tree and I just got Bestial
Wrath. For now I've decided to ignore the talents on either side of it
(should I?) and go back to some past talents. I could put a point in
Imp. AotH to finally max that out (4/5 right now), or I could start work
on Imp. Mend Pet or Animal Bond, both of which I skipped for now.

Any advice on where the next few points should go? Eventually all of
these will be maxed out. Not sure if I should do Ferocious Inspiration
or Catlike Reflexes though.

Thanks.

You know, for someone who starts a lot of characters,
you sure hit level 40+ very quickly. My highest is
at 42, and I've been playing since October and probably
have fewer characters than you Sad

I've been focused on drilling down to the lower
tiers, and haven't got to Bestial Wrath yet...
I had put some points into MM. I don't really
need the Aimed Shot, but the Imp. Concussive Shot
has been useful. Also the Lethal Shots sounds
worth doing. Nothing wrong with getting a few
MM talents if you spend a lot of time doing
ranged attacks.

Finishing up Imp. AotH is useful. The speed up
occurs often enough to help, but not so often
that you can depend on it.

AotH is a waste of points in my opinion, so don't waste any more than the 4
you already did... Imp mend pet is worth the points, Spirit bond (I assume
you mean this when saying Animal Bond, or Bestial Discipline, also.

I would recommend those two in any case.

I used to think it was a waste, but it's very nice. I enjoy having it.
But I might wait on that last point until later, so I'm not a level
behind on getting the other stuff.

I would say - put a few points in Catlike Reflexes - then go Serpents
Swiftness - max them out the next levels so u can get The Beast Within
- its absolutely a nice talent.

After that go max out LEthal Shots - thats what i am specced with -
and i seem to be doing ok...

I also get my pets Great Stamina, Growl, Bite and Dash - seems t be
keeping aggro just fine - and not losing too many hit points..

So far I've been able to teach both Great Stamina and Natural Armor, but
I think on my next training session, I'll only be able to do one. Sad
Now to decide which is more important...

Yeah, but blood elves look silly too, so it evens out.
I wonder how many Taurens are trying to earn enough
rep to get one of those as a mount?

Armor is probably best against melee enemies, health better
against spell casters. Always a quandary.

I went and got a second pet yesterday for tanking, as well
as training up some pet abilities that fell behind. Got a
crab in Swamp of Sorrows to teach Claw 6, which was only
one level behind me. So I was debating whether to keep a
crab as a pet (probably a blue STV one), or go for a turtle.
Was also considering scorpids, since there was a good one
at my level I could have gotten w/o having to go to unexplored
zones, and the poison might help out the DPS. Quandaries...
(didn't want a boar)

So I bit the bullet and went with a blue turtle (who I'm
calling Sinikilpi). Though that clattering of crab claws
was kind of nice. It's exactly my level so I don't
have to worry about levelling it first.

Well, I'm now 42 and I was able to train both GS and NA still! But
*next* time, I'm pretty sure they will be too expensive. Smile

I recently got spirit bond, and it seems reasonably useful.
When soloing, both you and the pet heal up quickly, reducing
downtime. Less mana spent on mend pet, or by group healers,
is also a plus.

Hmm, discovered a big drawback here. I thought "loyalty"
just came with keeping the pet happy. This is because
loyalty level increases will occur outside of combat,
even in the middle of cities, and checking online it
seems that many people say "just keep the pet fed and
happy".

But after several hours of no loyalty increases, wasted
fish, and zero training points, I checked the in-game
help. It says experience is needed to increase loyalty...
So that "gaining loyalty" message is misleading.
But since my pet is the same level as me, it won't gain
experience until I level up; so I stabled it for now.

Anyone know the exact formula? I hope it's not one
loyalty level per actual level, or I'll go out and
find a lower level pet instead.

I highly recommend putting 1, and just 1 point in Imp Mend Pet, if you've
already got the prerequisites in the BM tree. It's an amazing thing to have,
just cast mend pet and there's a chance per tick that you'll remove any
status debuffs on your pet. I've never had to cast mend pet more than 2x
usually to get whatever debuff he has on him to go away. Really useful when
you're fighting mobs that put those nasty 30 minute disease debuffs on ya.
Of course, you can't get the debuffs off yourself but that's what your pet
is there for anyways, to tank for you...

I'm loving BM spec with the boar. You can see my spec at
http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/#character-sheet.xml?r=Thunderhorn&n...uitroll
46 points in BM and then I started to go down the marksman tree just
recently.
