For those interested, there's a new survey up at the official website.
Mainly focuses on how you appreciate the Stuff pack, especially the FF pack.

They're going commercial I think, one of the questions was if you would
be interested if there were packs/items focused on brands as Ikea, GAP,
MTV, H&M, etc.

Hm.

I rather enjoy the made up company names and brands. Adds a bit of humor.
I doubt the real companies will want jokes made about their brands.

Most of the brands mentioned were clothes, as far as I knew them, and
I'm not really into dressing my sims, I'm easily satisfied (would like
some more bathing suits and pyjamas for men) and what I can download for
free is often better quality anyway. The MTV thing I can't imagine
anything what they would make; clothes? decoration?

I would like more furniture, also cheaper, so I wouldn't mind an Ikea
line (loved the series someone made for Sims 1), but I wouldn't know
another brand of furniture manufacturers that is known worldwide.

More cars would also be nice, but not a must.

Not there now.
There was a message from EA though in the mailbox.

"Site Outage, Wednesday July 19th

The site will be down for scheduled maintenance on Wednesday, July 19th at
10 PM PST. The outage will last approximately four hours.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Toyota was also mentioned, and I wouldn't mind having some real cars.
Though Toyota wouldn't be my first choice there.

Maxis has been known to only have the surveys on for a very short time.
As I said, first half of the survey was about what your thoughts were
about the stuff packs (my opinion: to over-priced for only 60 items) the
second half is what you would like to see; rate concepts (Asian,
landscaping, winter, European, etc) and questions how interested you are
in certain brands and tv-series (lost, grey's anatomy, etc).

I have a Fiat something-or-other that was a tie in download. I got it about
the time Nightlife was released. Ummm... sorry. I'm not good with cars (it
has five wheels and goes, is about as far as I get. I'd make a useless
witness at a bank robbery). Oh wait - punto. A Fiat punto - a Fiat point.
Hmmm... It's blue if that's any help.

Best wishes
maxon

Yeah, I got that too. I wouldn't mind seeing more of those.

But Toyota makes boring cars for the most part.

IMO, it is ludicrous to have a survey that only a handful of people will
ever take, and then make costly programming decisions based on it. If Maxis
truly wanted to know what the fans think, they'd leave their surveys up for
at least a week and get a good cross-section of opinion. Let the news makes
the rounds of all the forums and boards so more people can go and take the
damn thing. It seems obvious to me that having surveys like they do them
now only goes to prove that Maxis isn't the slightest bit interested in what
their customers really want and they will only post these surveys to give an
inkling of what's already in the works. It's kind of like the trick a
parent plays on a child by mentioning possible gifts for Christmas in
October. By the time December rolls around the kid is convinced it was his
idea in the first place.

You're absolutely right, although many people would take the survey in
the hour or so it is usually on the website it doesn't mean it is a fair
representation! First of all a great deal of the world population would
be at work or a sleep.

It reminds me of the tv ads for facial cream, which claims it is tested,
the small letters usually say that it was a test on 36 women or so, me
as an student who has followed several courses which involves analysing
educational research does not think that is a very valid test.
