I've been a big fan of the Myst games from the beginning. But by the
time we got to Myst3, my old iMac was underpowered to run them. Then I
bought an Intel Mac, with the following result:
realMyst - works
Riven - doesn't work/no OS9
MystIII - doesn't work, don't know why (Rosetta issue?)
Myst IV - doesn't work, don't know why (Rosetta issue?)
Myst V - apparently wouldn't work, don't know why (Rosetta issue?)
Happily, I have an eMac at work, which will play Myst III & IV, but
playing at work is, er, awkward. Based on things I've read on the web,
one should not buy Myst V, because it, like, doesn't work on any
systems at all! I lack confidence that it will play on any of the
three systems I have.
I also have a very old iMac at home; it will only play Riven under
OS9; it lacks the graphics support for anything else in OSX.
Where's Cyan's Mac user support? It's ridiculous. It seems that only
my PowerPC eMac at work can actually run these games. >> Stay informed about: support for intel macs |

You can download a patch to run Myst V: End of Ages on your Intel Mac
at http://patches.ubi.com/myst_5_end_of_ages/myst5_mac_intel_installer.dmg
You can get support for the other games at http://ubi.com/us/support/default.aspx
Cheers,
