You need a fake key to swop for the one guarded by the knights. If I
recall, the fake is on the collar of a dog on the outside balcony. Use
the dog whistle to attract it, then blow it's head off.
You'll find a lot of the puzzles have been changed.
If you are really stuck, I suggest Gamefaqs, they're pretty good on
walkthroughs.
Hope that helps,

I agree, if you're used to the PS version, you definitely need a
walkthrough to navigate the GC REmake. I got lucky and found a copy of
a strategy guide cheap on Ebay, filled with color maps, boss strategies,
and all sorts of extras -- if you can find it cheaply, I recommend it.
Of course, it takes some of the surprise out of the game, and I know
many people won't touch such things, but I love 'em. >> Stay informed about: please please can sum1 help asap!! |

OK, relax man, we'll get you out of it.
You'll need to have the dog whistle (From the library, east wing) and
then head to the western patio. Blow the whistle, kill the dog with the
shiny collar (Kill both of 'em, it's easier), examine it and you'll have
acquired the fake mansion key.
Then it's simply a case of taking the real key and replacing it with
the fake one.
Easy eh? If you're running out of ammo, try to avoid zombies by running
around them. It's much easier after practice, plus there are very few
zombies who are really in your way that early on in the game, and
there's another benefit - No Crimson Head zombies populating the place.
Careful after you leave the key-switch room though, as any zombies you
killed will rise again as Crimson Heads who are much tougher, faster and
uglier than your usual ones.
Cheers,
Rob

That takes all the *fun* out of it though!
I had great fun on my first play through. Just think of the PS1 RE
never existing and you can set your mind to each puzzle.
The REmake has it's good and bad points over the original, but they've
been documented well enough. I *really* hate the new type of zombie dog
though.
Cheers,
Rob

You can avoid Crimson Heads rising by burning the zombie corpses right
after you kill them. You need oil (found in the big cans in a few of
the storerooms) and the lighter for this. Unfortunately, there isn't
enough oil to burn every zombie, so you have to use the oil judicially.
I found that out the hard way, running out of oil long before I ran
out of zombies.
Of course, if you're playing Jill and have the grenade launcher with
endless fire rounds, you can just kill zombies with that -- it burns
them enough that they don't rise as Crimson Heads. Won't work with
Chris though, as he doesn't get a grenade launcher. Now if someone
would just find a code that gave infinite oil.... >> Stay informed about: please please can sum1 help asap!! |

Yeah, I should have mentioned that. I never bothered burning them from
the outset. It makes the game so painfully slow....

.....and this is the reason why!

I'll have to check this, but I'm pretty sure you can de-cap zombies
with the shotgun and they won't come back.
You won't be able to get the shotgun until late into the mansion stage
of the game though (Jill is the big winner; she can get it from the
start with Barry's assistance).
Cheers,
Rob

There are Hunters, but no Lickers.
Mind the exploding Zombies as well.

You're lucky, I don't know how many times the dogs on the balcony have
chewed me to shreds. Good thing those herbs are growing nearby! >> Stay informed about: please please can sum1 help asap!! |
