Hello all,

Need help on making a pirate island!
I have all the pirateminiatures and boats build, painted and ready, but i am
missing a masterpiece! Thats why i decided to make an island for my 28mm
pirates.
My purpose is to turn that island into a real eyecandy for my friends so
they finally stop playing WWII games after all those years Wink
My idea was to make a small harbor with enough buildings to give it a
city-feeling with a fort on top of a hill.
So far i made the fort which is connected with a wooden hanging bridge to
another small hill that goes down to the 'harbor' part.but i only have the
'docks' over there.
I havent made/bought any buildings yet and thats the part where I am stuck.
Not sure what style-/type of buildings I have to put down here. I dont want
to put all time and efforts on it to turn out in a real joke if you know
what I mean Smile
I have searched google and yahoo for several days but cann't seem to find
anything concerning buildings or even some nice pictures of existing pirate
battles to get some ideas... Looks like this is not so popular to play?

I hope some people around here could help me out on this. You are all my
last hope Smile
If anyone else with "pirate tabletop experience" has some tips for me like
what should be definetely be present, tell me please!

So far I have made the fort and the docks.
The 2 hills are like 4 inches high and in 2 different corners of the islands
connected by a wooden bridge.
The island area is like 25" in both directions.

thanks in advance
Ceppe

Cepero, me hearty! I remember you from over a year ago! Glad to see
you're still working the piratical angle. I would browse thruogh some
of the Osprey books, as architecture isn't the forefront, but plenty in
the background in those. Also, if you decide to base your island on a
particular historical location (Tortuga, Panama, etc.) or style
(French, English, Spanish) you'll probably have an easier time
researching it.
