Has anyone attempted to use a steam cleaner to remove dust and grime
from PCBs, monitor chassis and other dusty interior components on
arcade cabinets?

Would this be damaging to the components? Does anyone have any
commentary?

Any thoughts on which might be the best brand to purchase?

A steam cleaner is not a good idea for anything in an arcade cabinet...

Maybe some 'canned air', alcohol, and a dust vac... but no steam cleaning.

The gents in the TOP (This Old Pinball) video #7
http;//www.marviin3m.com/TOP did it to the inside of a pinball machine
which has a LOT more electronic parts than a vid... Now, I would be
more worried about if the wood is particle board, if it is I would be
careful, if it is made of plywood, steam away, just take OUT the board
first everything else will dry. Then leave it for a week and it will be
just fine...

another trick they did was to remove all the STANK from the inside of
the cab is to sand it all down inside ... you are best off to follow
the link about and buy the video for $8 shipped and watch it.. even if
you dont have a pinball you will find it very interesting..
