Hi,

I wa browsing ye olde trolle and toade to get myself up and running
again with 9th edition etc, but I failed to find any boxes of starters,
only boosters.

Are starter boxes no longer available? I would also need to get a
decent supply of lands again, so boosters wouldn't really help me.

Cheers,

Ben

They're not available for the "Core Set" (9th edition at the moment),
although they are available for the "large expansion" that comes out
each Fall.

Well, the Core Set boosters do have 1 basic land in each booster,
although you'd probably have to buy a lot for that to help you. One
possibility might be to buy a Fat Pack or two. They have a bunch of
boosters (6, I think), a life counter, a bunch of basic lands (40, I
think), and a bunch of other stuff too. (Like a novel in the latest
ones, at least.)

Also, game stores generally have lands for sale if you want to pay for
them, and other players may have them coming out their ears and may be
willing to just give them to you.

Or, you can do what I do and go to a lot of Sealed deck tournaments,
such as Prereleases. Sealed deck tournaments are a lot of fun,
particularly for players who don't have a lot of recent cards of their
own, because it puts everyone on a equal playing field. And after
going to them, you get to keep the cards, including the lands, for use
in future constructed decks.
