| I run quake 2 on win XP pro. I get constant 60 fps. I forget how to get
around this. I think there was a bug that made XP revert to 60 fps refresh
rate while q2 was running. This does NOT happen in other games. TIA

Actually, it does.....the same XP refresh bug also affects anything using
the Half-Life engine. >> Stay informed about: speaking of timedemos |

What about tewaking the Hz-Rate (which is included in the newer
Detonators) or just switching off v-sync? >> Stay informed about: speaking of timedemos |

I can set the refresh rate to any setting aboce 60, also v-sync is off
ingame and in vid card settings...I still get 60fps in timedemo and
timerefresh. I know I dealt with this before, it was something simple, I
just seem to have forgotten. >> Stay informed about: speaking of timedemos |

Well, I'm still running an Athlon XP 2100+ which should really have been put
out to pasture a year ago LOL... but it does run Doom 3 And I get 125
FPS in Q3 and up to 200 or so in Q2. <g>

It's an Athalon XP 2800+. I think my big boost came when I put in a GeForce
6800 GT. So I could play Doom3. Which I ban now much better. But I got an
improvement in all other games as a bonus. 6800s? I recommend them. Spendy
though. >> Stay informed about: speaking of timedemos |
