So I've been thinking about the best way to get the most pin and vid games
is the least amount of space in my basement and was wondering if anybody had
any tips or tricks for doing so?
I don't want to store the games, but have them set up and available for
play.
I was thinking of building some risers or steps and placing two arcade games
or pins on them back to back and then lining up a row of games in front of
that. Although as I think about it, I guess I could do the same thing
without building the risers...
Does anybody have a particular way they set up games to maximize space?
Thanks! >> Stay informed about: space is the place |

One thing I've done, although this dosen't allow you to fit in more games,
it does allow for some space management.
I use different sized rubbermaid containers to store assorted items neatly
tucked under the pins. A couple large ones on bottom along with a shorter,
longer one on top fits pretty nice. Holds parts, pcb's, you name it.
In the end there really is only one solution. Bigger house.

The only way to maximize space, other than the obvious center aisle of games
back to back, squeezing them in as close as possible, is to double book
player space, meaning only one of the games across from each other could be
played at a time. If it's a temporary configuration, I guess it beats
folding the pins up and storing them. I have seen die-hard collectors put
them in every conceivable room of their house. Kitchen, dining, garage,
bedrooms... Although I have yet to see one in a bathroom.

In the bathroom! Now THATS an Idea! Perfect for a Caberet or two. Gotta
make sure you've got good ventilation so steam from the shower dosen't work
it's way into the fiberboard though.

Pressurize it. A big job, but then you only need outside walls, no inside
walls or supports. Of course you'll need a decompression chamber to go into
and out of the basement. And don't ever bring a can of paint in the basement
and open it. That should get you more game room. LTG

It's called MAME. There are many other emulators, and legal versions
of most classics are available emulated in many different packages,
such as Namco 50th, 80 Atari games, etc.
Certainly the way to get the most video games in the least amount of
space. If you have all the real machines you want, even better, but
most people do not have unlimited space.
Won't help with the pinball machines. >> Stay informed about: space is the place |

Don't use full size games, use mini's or cabaret's.
Go around the room first and get that to be set up the way you want it.
Pins at an end of the room, unless you got a lot of them, but line up
on one wall either way.
No cocktail or cockpit games, they eat space.

if you have a lot of pins back to back in a center row configuration,
you can "weave" the legs in and out to get about 6 inches more space on
either aisle for playing. >> Stay informed about: space is the place |

Pachislo mounted in the wall directly opposite the throne, within arms
reach. People love it. We can tell. And what better place for a Pachislo?

How big is the basement?? My current Game Room is 12X15 and I have 18
Uprights, an EDOT, and a Turbo OutRun Cockpit in there with room for 5
more. Games all around the outside and then back to backs in the
middle. >> Stay informed about: space is the place |
