I've only had Complete Collection for about a week & am sooo addicted:)
I've tried looking up answers to this but am still confused.

Wanted some clothes & downloaded some skins. Now how to I go about
finding the new skins? They don't seem to be showing up in the dresser.
Or do I have to create a new sim from scratch in order to use the
downloaded skins?

You will have to take your sim to a community lot and go shopping for
new clothes in order for them to show up in the dresser. They should
also be available when you make a new sim.

I didn't realize how much I've forgotten about The Sims 1. I didn't
remember going shopping for their clothes. LOL

Be sure you put them in gamedata\skins.

What, In Sims 1? No, they should show up in the dresser unless they're
put in the skinsbuy folder, any skins put in the gamedata\skins folder
should show up in the dresser.

One of the many things I like in Sims 1 is that you don't have to go
out and buy new clothes.

Only skins put in the Expansionshared/skinsbuy folder need to be
bought, and if you don't have any expansionpacks you don't have the
option to buy clothes, that ability came with Hot Date. Or there is
something really wrong with my copy of the Sims:-)
