I know these may seem like a stupid questions:
A friend of mine plays a zombie deck and of course has the Lord of the
Undead in his deck. The ones he is playing with is 8th edition
1BB
Black
Creature - Lord
P / T 2 / 2
Rarity R
Card Text All Zombies get +1/+1. 1B, T: Return target Zombie card from
your graveyard to your hand.
It was reprinted in 9th edition and the only difference is that the
creature type is now a Zombie Lord. He was wondering since the reprint
if he can consider his that way. I say no, go by what is on the
card...specifics.
And the other question I have is about the Coat of Arms
Coat of Arms
Card Text: Each creature gets +1/+1 for each other creature in play
that shares a creature type with it. (For example, if there are three
Goblins in play, each gets +2/+2.)
I play a soldier deck with this card. It is always argued about how the
+1/+1 gets added.
I have several different types of soldiers like birds, human, and
goblin. I say it would get a +1/+1 for the other birds, human or goblin
in play as well as a +1/+1 for all other soldiers.
They say it should be "bird soldier" as 1 creature type or that it only
gets the bonus for one. >> Stay informed about: Two silly questions - 1)Zombie Lord 2)Coat of Arms |

Lord of the Undead
1BB
Creature - Zombie Lord
2/2
Other Zombies get +1/+1.
1B: Return target Zombie card from your graveyard to your hand.
Yes before ninth this creature was only a Lord and it's text said, Zombies
get +1/+1.
The new one is a Zombie in addition to being a Lord. but the ruling text
says, OTHER zombies get +1/+1, so it does not give itself the bonus,
however, if there were to be 2 Lord of the Undead creatures in play, they
would give each other the +1/+1 bonus.
Coat of Arms
5
Artifact
Each creature gets +1/+1 for each other creature in play that shares a
creature type with it. (For example, if a Goblin Warrior, a Goblin Scout,
and a Zombie Goblin are in play, each gets +2/+2.)
Thes are the official rulings I found on gatherer.wizards.com. After reading
these rulings I realized that I was misunderstood. So I am going to leave
the explanation of this card to, either David or Zoe to explain this card.
Oct 4, 2004 - If a creature in play has more than one creature type, and one
of those types matches the creature you are calculating for, then count this
creature. Only one type needs to match in order to get counted.
Oct 4, 2004 - If you have a creature with more than one creature type, and
another creature matches more than one creature type, you only count that
creature once. You do not double count it because it has a double match.
Oct 4, 2004 - If you have a creature with more than one creature type, count
all creatures which have either creature type. >> Stay informed about: Two silly questions - 1)Zombie Lord 2)Coat of Arms |
