Give combat/hemo with dual deadly poisons, when there's a mangling
bear around Smile It's BLEEDCITY!

For me, swords - daggers can be powerful too but when you're soloing it's
not so easy to get behind your target to do backstabs etc, while swords it
doesn't matter as much. Grouping they're pretty much the same, but for
soloing (which is what you'll do a lot while levelling) it's much easier to
be swords in my opinion. Have to admit it's a very long time since I've
been daggers though; I just like swords too much to want to change now!

I had 8 of the 9 classes at level 60 when Burning Crusade launched, on a PvP
server, no less.

You are completely wrong.

Rogue and Hunter are the EASIEST.

True enough.

Oh so not putting a rogues escape ability into play means that a rogue isn't
"forgiving" when things go wrong?

I leveled a rogue to 60, on a PvP server, in 8 days played, without even
bothering to rush like I did on my hunter. This includes things like
getting corpse camped by people 20+ levels higher than me, and not skipping
things like Strangethorn Vale, or twinking beyond mailing gold.

Vanish, a decent sword, and a combat build are the only things you need
to level faster than any classes but mages and hunters.

Depends what you mean by hard. IMO Paladins aren't hard to level at
all, just sloooowwwww.

My Pally didn't go to his first Outland instance/start PvPing until he
was 70, and in the whole time between that and the time he entered
Outland at 60, he died once. (And that was after he'd successfully
taken on 3 melee mobs and a caster, was sitting down to drink, Tagar
Spinebreaker came out of nowhere, I aggroed a worm thing that started
spitting 800 Nature Damage per spit at me in my escape attempt, and
Tagar stun-locked the hell out of me and killed me.)

Pallies aren't hard, just, particularly against single mobs or
casters, so very, very slow. Those joke forum posts you see about
activating Seal of Light, then surfing TV channels, aren't kidding.

I'll agree with this. At low levels my druid was a bear to level
(hehe). Seriously though, I tried it as balance, and I flat out could
not DPS any healing mob fast enough to kill it. Even if it ran out of
mana it would have built enough back up again to heal before I could
kill it. When you get cat form though it all smoothes out, and I
found the druid incredibly quick to level after that. I went feral to
60, and then balance from 60 to 70. One nice thing is that, outdoors,
for any non-healing melee mob, you can kill almost ANYTHING. I could
solo the meanest looking elites by simply rooting it, putting on
Insect Swarm, MAYBE moonfire but often not, and just waiting. Refresh
the root if it breaks. Refresh IS if it wears off. Takes a while but
you can kill anything that way.

Mage I also leveled to 70. Not bad. I noobed up and did arcane from
1 to 60, but you still have your base tools (frostbolt to slow an
incoming mob, and frost nova to root it and start over). I did frost
from 60 to 70 and am now fire. Took me a while because this was the
first char that I leveled to max level, but overall I didn't run into
any situations I thought were overly frustrating.

Hunter I've also done to 70. Flat out easy mode. He's beastmaster
specced, and there is nothing in game that I'm afraid to take on with
my hunter solo. The pet can take as big a beating as a second char,
and does about 30% of my own DPS. Combine that will a nice healing
spell I can cast on it, and it's literally like having your own group
of 2 players at all times. Any group quest that says "Suggested
Players: [2]" I don't actually consider a group quest on my hunter.

Priest I'm up to 39. I have to be careful with my pulls, and it
requires much more finesse to play, but it's not really THAT bad.
Still, barring early level druid woes, my priest seems to be the
hardest char I've leveled to any significant level so far.

Besides those I've taken a shammy to 27, a warlock to 19, and a
Paladin to 15. Warlock seems ok-ish. Kinda like the hunter, but the
VW isnt' as tough and if I go all out I can pull aggro off him in a
heartbeat. Paladin and Shammy are basic slug-fests with self healing
mixed in, though the shammy is slightly more interesting. I MAY end
up leveling the shammy or lock, but I doubt I'll get the pally up. I
know I'll never level a rogue or warrior as I've really found that I
don't enjoy melee classes that much, and prefer to focus on ranged
casters. Of course just out of curiosity and "coolness" factor, I must
level a Death Knight to 80 when they come out Smile

Maces forever Smile
Once you get your first mace stun interrupting a spellcast when both
gouge, kick, and kidney shot aren't ready, you never turn back. It's
great to be able to use rupture, garrote and deadly poison liberally.

Only problem is that there are only a half-handful maces available
between 61 and 70.
I actually had to respec daggers at 64 - can't wait to respec back!

If you're going to go maces, don't forget to get the Mace
Specialization talent in Combat tree. Two points in there will give
you a 6% chance to stun with each weapon- so when dual-wielding maces,
you actually have about a 12% combined chance to stun your target for
every dual-swing.

>Only problem is that there are only a half-handful maces available

Yes, unless you manage to get the Fool's Bane mace from Illhoof in
Kara, you are going to be relegated to 1H maces that are generally
lower dps than many daggers or swords you can more easily aquire in
outlands. Below 60, there are a fair amount of blue and green maces
that you can usually get in the AH, so leveling up with them isn't any
problem.

>I actually had to respec daggers at 64 - can't wait to respec back!

I enjoyed playing SS rogue with maces for a long time, but many of the
mobs and all the bosses in Kara and beyond are immune to the mace
stun, so it's back to daggers/backstab/combat spec for me. But with
Malchazeen and the Emerald Ripper, that is quite enjoyable Smile After
laying aside my trusty Fool's Bane for the shiny new Malch this week,
and respec'ing for backstab, my dps jumped significantly.

Most people recommend a combat build with swords for levelling,
personally I backstabbed all the way to level 50+ because I
enjoyed that playstyle better. At that point I respecced and
from level 50+ to 70 I used the highest max damage (not necessarily
highest DPS) weapon (fist/sword/mace) I could find on AH in my main
hand.

> Just "Vanish". Or "Sprint".

One of the problems with the rogue is that it tempts you into bypassing mobs
with stealth in order to get where you want, and at least what happens to me
when I try to "sprint" to safety is that I run right into that group of mobs
that I thought I was so clever to stealth my way through! Smile

I agree that now that I've learned vanish, it is a real life-saver. When I
originally read the description ("enters an enchanced mode of stealth for 10
seconds"), it didn't sound that great because I thought it was little more
than a 10-second emergency bandage/run-away ability, but as far as I can tell
the mobs generally lose all interest in me and I end up re-entering normal
stealth, so it's much like an "undo-button" for bad pulls. Very handy.

Between that and learning how to use crippling poison, level has became much
easier for me.

As I said, I'm new to the class and probably doing things "wrong". Smile

Now that I've learned to use vanish and am employing crippling poisons on one
weapon the rogue is becoming much easier to level. Prior to that she was a
bit of a pain.

Even with vanish, I'd still say the warlock is an easier class to play than
rogue. You don't even have to pay attention to what you're doing as a 'lock.
The voidwalker makes up for bad technique. At least that's my impression as a
demo-lock. As afflication or destruction I'm sure you stand more chance of
pulling aggro off the void.

Hmm, I must do something wrong then. I changed my resto build to
enhancement, and did get a large DPS boost that worked fine in HP, but
in Zangramars I need to drink after every 2-3 fights, and fighting more
than 2 mobs a time, can be a real challange with no guarantee of
survival.

Just took a closer look at my items, and I might have too much +agil
(+94), when I should go for +str (+31). I'll just keep him on hold and
give him whatever my Hunter lvl 60 will find or learn to make with LW, I
plan on leveling my Hunter to 70 first anyway, and I might level my lvl
52 Druid first too, so my shammy can stay on bag-tailoring and
disenchant duty untill then (they might change more for the Shaman in
patch 2.3).

I actually leveled with fist weapons and a Hemo build. The Demonblood
Eviscerator is the coolest looking weapon I've seen so far. Smile (Drops
off the final boss in Shattered Halls).

I went maces after I started getting PUMMELED in arenas and
battlegrounds and world PvP by Mace wielding rogues. Figured, if you
can't beat em, join em! I immediately realized that there are no good
maces for us, anywhere! Sad They all have +Int, +Healing, etc.. on
them. Sad So I broke down and spent all my arena points on the Off-
hand mace from the second season and settled down to wait for a respec
until I found a suitable main-hand. Shortly after I found a decent
one with +46 attack power and some stamina and switched.... Holy cow.
I love stuns!!!

Just a day or so ago I was helping a friend run Shadow Labs and The
Blackout Truncheon dropped... WOW I thought, a +agility mace with gem
slots! <Equip Mace> = Lose like 250 from my min and max damage!!! :
( HOWEVER it has an awesome proc, "Blinding Speed" and let me tell
you... You get that proc, SnD and Haste from the Assassination gear,
pop Blade Fury and you're like a walking food processor, but think
large, blunt instruments instead of blades! >Smile I've never killed
