If you still have the original disks you should be able to get Maxis to
either replace them for a small fee (with a new code) or recover the old
code for you. Also, I think (and I don't know this because I haven't tried)
that if you registered at the Maxis site when you installed the game, that
you can recover your registration code from there. I don't KNOW this
though - I might be wrong - but you can do this with some games. Anyway,
some avenues to follow up before you expend a lot of money on buying a new
copy of the game, hmm? I never throw any documentation away myself.
