I really enjoy seeing all those plants from planet Earth in Cyrodel.
Though, I have mixed feelings about what seems to be goldenrod and
ragweed. Smile

I have azaleas, forcithia (sp?) and rodadendron blooming in my yard
as well as my game. Even many trees, ferns, etc that I don't know the
name of I recognize as a species I've seen a lot.

Does anyone else find this a very nice touch (or set of touches) to
the game?

I prefer Oblivion's approach by FAR. But then I started playing back
in 94 or 95 (which was it?) with Daggerfall. While things weren't
terribly detailed back then (heh) it was fairly obviously an Earth
based ecology. And while I find the flaura and fauna of Vardenfell to
be interesting my character is far more at home in Cyrodill. She's got
a little cabin up near Bruma, just below the snow line in an aspen
grove. Perfect. Smile

R u kidding? Morrowind was great, it was different. Oblivion is simply
beautiful. I find it so relaxing to go out into the wild and pick flowers
and raise my alchemy skill (minor skill). I also think it clever that some
flowers only appear in one area, such as in the east and you wont find it in
the west - too warm and land elevation is too low for some things to grow.
I think that is the bonus that Oblivion can offer - it can offer action and
suspense, but at the same time you can find vast pockets of relax and calm.
Morrowind wasnt like that for me, the alien world made me feel tense all the
time, like i was being followed all the time and that at any moment looking
for some flower a Cliff racer would attack me....anytime... ANYWHERE.

ooooohh yea! Like i said, it allows you to escape into another world, but
not an alien world, rather a world with many similarities - an old world. I
think i feel more comfortable with Oblivion than morrowind because morrowind
was the introductory phase to the game mechanics, races and other
interesting things. With oblivion you can just let go....

Yes, and I also enjoy the little touches like carrots being good for "night
eye"
