Archived from groups: alt>games>elder-scrolls (more info?)

I just finished the corrupt captain quest (whatever it was called). I
searched his quarters as suggested and found nothing interesting.
Eventually I gave up and led him to the woman that wanted to kill him
and she fed him to the rats. I have a save from before that quest
though, and I would rather not be a party to killing him since this
character has done nothing remotely evil thus far. Is it possible to
do it the other way? I only found a little bit of gold in the hard to
open chest, and I think I checked everything else in the room and only
found some books, clothing, etc. I am wondering what I missed.

SPOILER... although not a very big one.

There's a note on top of the book, which is itself on top the chest of
drawers.
