Hey everyone, I've tried for about 10 years to get a website up about
my projects, but always failed because they got put on hold due to
lack of funds, lack of a plan, or just plain laziness (er, I mean, I
was busy). This time it's not technically a MAME cabinet, but a
"universal console" idea that I've had for a long time but was never
able to execute. The general idea is to put together a relatively
compact PC that will be able to play games for all the different
consoles, some native Windows CD-ROM games, and of course MAME.
Having had a handful of full-sized cabinets in my apartment years ago,
I don't think I can handle the storage and relocation problems that
come with owning full-size arcade cabinets. I do still have a cabaret
cabinet and cocktail table that I plan to MAME, but I want the console
project to be fully redundant so I don't lose anything if my actual
cabinets have to go into storage.
The blog's just getting started (as is the project), but there should
be a "subscribe" link somewhere so you can be notified of updates.
You can also go back through the archive to read entries you might
have missed. You know, standard blog stuff.
Anyway, thanks in advance for reading, and if there's a burner that
can help me out with MAME and/or MESS ROMs, please drop me a line.
Sorry if that's breaking some sort of "don't ask for ROMs" protocol,
but as I'm just announcing this project, I was thinking that some of
the more helpful folk here would be wondering if there was anything
they could do to help. For the newbies, I'm also quite willing to
share what I've learned over the past ten years, and of course all the
new things I learn while working on this project.
Thanks, everyone!
