by 45 degrees he means 45 degrees past abeam, in English about 7:30 on the
clock system where 12 o'clock is straight ahead, 9 o'clock is off your left
wing tip and 7:30 is halfway between your left wing tip and the tail of the
plane.
I had it tell me I'd crashed once when I landed fine. I was kind of short of
the touchdown point I think. Anyway I landed longer the next time and it was
fine.
It gets worse. Trying to understand the instrument rating failure notices
can be challenging. If you fail, it's because something was out of limits on
the portion of the flight she mentions, but not necessarily WHAT she says.
Enjoy!
Wad.
