I'm running Gargoyle on Linux, and I tried Floatpoint, but shortly after
I meet with my first appointment, the game runs into this error:
fatal error: Local variable wasn't 4 bytes wide.
and Gargoyle crashes.
This seems to happen randomly at different places, but I can't get very
far into the game at all before Gargoyle crashes. The furthest I got was
meeting with the assistant, and then the game got some error about 'bad
opcode' and crashed.
Any clues? Judging from other posts, Glulx seems to be having
cross-platform problems. (I don't have Windows so I'm unable to play the
game sensibly at this point.)

Try running the game with the glulxe.exe interpreter instead of the
default
git.exe. The local variable ... message is a limitation of Git.

Ah, now it seems to be working properly. Thanks!

It's weird, though, because Inform shouldn't be producing any local
variables that aren't four bytes.
It's hard to say whether this is a compiler bug or a game bug.
