Hello...
I just found out this, it may help..
If you can't install downloaded Lots after installing OFB; Ex. when
you double-click on a "LotName.Sims2Pack" you get the error message
that you don't have the required expansion pack, blah, blah, blah...;
you might need to check the file assosiation with the Package
Installer.
While searching the Registry, I found the below entry:
Location: My
Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Sims2Pack_auto_file\Shell\open\command
Key : (default) = "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2
Nightlife\CSBin\PackageInstaller.exe" "%1"
Obviously, the "Package Installer" trying to open my Lot packages was
wrong, so I changed to:
Location: My
Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Sims2Pack_auto_file\Shell\open\command
Key : (default) = "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Open
For Business\CSBin\PackageInstaller.exe" "%1"
Now, everything works fine !!!
Hope, this help..
Thanks. >> Stay informed about: If you're having problems with "Package Installer"... |

This was a problem I had with University, and no one was able to figure
it out. Seemed at the time I was the only one expieriancing the
problem. This is good information to have and I am going to save it in
case I need it later.
Might let tech support over there at Maxis know, because they were NO
