Hi all

First of all forgive me if I am posting in the wrong group, perhaps
somebody will point me in the right direction if I am.

Today I brought a secondhand Gamecube at a bootsale ( when will I ever
learn?) Well the problem is that it all lights up ok and the game
starts on the TV but as soon as I plug the controller in the display
goes. If the controller is plugged in before I turn the unit on I get
no display at all.
Anybody got any thoughts as to which is likely to be at fault, the
gamecube itself or the controller. Obviously I could buy a controller
but I really dont want to through good money after bad if the problem
is likely to be with the gamecube,

I should perhaps add that the controller is not an official gamecube
one.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
