| Does anybody know the difference between the priest 6th level turning
ability and the generic turning available to any character class
wielding a holy symbol? I am wondering if it has something to do with
piety loss. I don't really turn the undead. It's not really cost
effective, considering that it doesn't last more than a couple of
turns. However, if it were free it might make a good tool.

I think the priest ability is more powerful. Of course, I don't really
know, and you might as well kill them because if they need to be
killed ASAP, then they are probably to strong to be turned. >> Stay informed about: priests: turning undeads. |

I didn't even realize any class could turn undead. I thought that was
strictly a holy ability restricted to priests and paladins. >> Stay informed about: priests: turning undeads. |

If you use a holy symbol near the undead you get the option to (t)urn
or (p)ray. Turning with a holy symbol doesn't seem very effective and
uses piety quickly. >> Stay informed about: priests: turning undeads. |

Yep. Anyone can turn undead with a holy symbol, but if you don't have
the Turn Undead ability it abuses piety.
