I just realised this morning, that the other thing I hated about the new
setup is the way the mouse defaults to hidden. On my machine ALT doesn't
even show it up. This train of thought got me noticing....

i. No mouse by default....
ii. Most actions can now be done with one button. I think the most
complex actions like combat need at the most 3 buttons (1 to attack, 1 for
special attack, 1 for special attack selection). With the old version,
combat would have required mapping to many buttons.
iii. Skills trees simplified to the nth degree, even including
pretty pictures of cast members....
iv. Areas that are roped off by invisible barriers...

Call me Mr cynical but this to me has the smelly whiff of 'console' written
all over it....

I wonder if SOE's plans weren't to improve the game per-se, but instead to
target a completely different market such as consoles..... Maybe WOW is to
complex to port to a console in it's present form so SOE figure that if they
break into the console market and make a bigger buck there?...

Who knows....

I would think the better bet would be the new 360??

Especially when you can get a decent machine for just a couple hundred
more than the 360 is gonna cost (tricked out that is...).

Heck, I think somebody told me the other day that they build their
game PC (and it was impressive) for just $750!!

folks, this is sony were talking about. I sincerely doubt they would
put out a game on XBOX when they make the playstation. Its more likley
a PS3 possibility, but with the recent announcement of a lack of a
centralized online service for PS3 i dont know how many customers they
would find.

Well, SOE, specifically Brenlo, has officially denied the plan to move the
game to console. Which means absolutely squat of course, but it is amusing.
I have copied the post so when they announce the console version I have it
for reference.
