Post subject: A portal opened at Ahn'Quirai...

What happened? 1.5 days ago I visited gadgetzan with my lvl60 druid.
Horde and allied were fighing side by side against some elite mobs inside
gadgetzan. A huge stone was floating in the air inside the town and a lot
of the players got mindcontrolled by the mobs. Shimmering flats was
attacked as well. I was told that a portal at Ahn'Quirai had opened. Yes
tell me, what happened here? 
It all happened in the Darkmoon Faire realm (EU).

The Ahn'Quirai instances in Silithus are opened now.
The instances are 2, for 20 and 40 people...its old content however
and unlikely that any guild would bother going there.
Besides they are really awfull looking imo

In short two raid instances (20 man and 40 man) are now available. The
whole event was a bit uneasy and had some flamewars at realm forums...
The sceptre (which normally takes long and hard questline to make)
holder was some person who transferred with it from other server. But
on the other hand, only one guild was barely starting the questline to
open the gates.

I checked the forums at wow-europe.com before I asked here. I didnt see
any flamewars (and I love reading flamewars in forums).

If anyone else is on servers where the gates havent opened yet, be sure to
get your butt to Cenarion Hold the second it does - there are a few quests
that are only available for a few hours (Go to 3 places and talk to someone
for a bag of greens/possible blues and epics).
I still kick myself for only doing them with my mage

It's young RP server, so there's just a few raiding guilds. Plus TBC
went live shortly after the guilds started raiding ZG and Onyxia, you
can guess what happened - everyone went to Outland.

Ah, memories!
The war to open the gates of AQ just started. I have to wonder on a
new server if anyone is going to actually bother to open the gates. But
even if they don't you now have an easy source of items. The war effort
turnins were how I got the materials to get enchanting to 300 back in the
day. *

One time per server, yes. Some of the newest realms don't have the gates
open yet. The invasion triggers at some point in the maturity of the
server - not sure what that is. *

aq gates event ?
i take it your server isn't very busy.....
i made a few video's when ours opened
draenor eu

the guild opening it gave a time out, so the entire server would turned up
which was great
only downside was they opened in at midnight, so the 12 hour event was

Actually they didn't give a time, only a day... I missed it because of that

Its in Silithus, middle of the map. When you run down from the flightpath,
the "special" questgivers are straight ahead (When they're there).
