I don't care about:
Guitar Hero: Barely more complex than Simon Says. Enojoyable in very
short, infrequent bursts, but that's it.
COD4: Come out too close too Halo 3. I have no doubt I'd like it if
I weren't shootered out.
Rock Band: Same problems as Guitar Hero, too expensive.
Gears of War: Just never cared. Can't pin down a reason.
Assassin's Creed: Reviews put me off this.
Burnout Paradise/PGR4/Forza 2: 1 driving game a year does it for me,
and that game was Dirt.
Madden: Don't like football videogames generally, and it's an EA
game.

The Grand Theft Auto series Playstation 2 and beyond is one of the
most fun series in gaming history. Without this series, the
Playstation 2 would not have been anywhere as successful as it was. If
Grand Theft Auto IV is anything like its predecessors, it will blow
pretty much every other current-gen game out of the water as far as
overall fun factor is concerned.
Having said that, I personally know a few people who absolutely hate
the series. Having said *that*, I personally know a TON of people who
swear by the game and some who would never consider a console without
the game. >> Stay informed about: popular 360 games you just don't care about |

I like this game actually and it's the only game my gf will play with
me but I'm just bad at it. I do wish I can play more so I can
improve, but I just don't have the time.
>COD4: Come out too close too Halo 3. I have no doubt I'd like it if

Loved this game. I'm a big shooter fan.
>Rock Band: Same problems as Guitar Hero, too expensive.
Yeah, I never picked this one up.
>Gears of War: Just never cared. Can't pin down a reason.
Again, being a big shooter fan, I loved this game.
>Assassin's Creed: Reviews put me off this.
Tried it. Too repetitive, and just not enough action to have kept me
interested. I sold it on a local classified newsgroup.
>Burnout Paradise/PGR4/Forza 2: 1 driving game a year does it for me,
>and that game was Dirt.
Racing games just never interested me, although, I have respect for
those who are good at it, particularly playing with the gamepad in
manual mode and not with the wheel. I think it takes a certain amount
of skill and talent to be able to master the sensitive steering system
and the shifting while being able to perform some nice and clean
drifts in those games.
>Madden: Don't like football videogames generally, and it's an EA

I've always wanted to pick up Madden but never have. I do like sports
games, but just haven't had the time to get into Madden. The demos
I've played has me feeling overwhelmed by the control system though.
The learning curve seems really steep.
I play the NHL and PES games all the time.
>What are yours?
I picked up Mass Effect and am considering putting it up for sale like
I did with AC. Guess I'm just not an RPGer. Even though this game
has a really good shooter element to it, the idea of having to go meet
all sorts of characters didn't keep me interested. >> Stay informed about: popular 360 games you just don't care about |

GoW , only got round to playing it a couple of weeks ago, couldn't
understand why everyone had been raving about the graphics when it first
came out, like you I thought it was just dull and grey. Maybe the colour
scheme was deliberate, to match the gameplay
Grand Theft Auto, tried to like it, but just couldn't get into it.
Any of the Halo games (well not 3, as I've never played it) was bored by
the first one, gave up at the Flood, wasn't going to bother with the
second one, but got sucked in by the hype, never finished that one
either.

* Racing games. I'm a terrible video game driver, which makes these
games, and even racing minigames in other games nothing but aggravation for
me. Oh, I liked Burnout Takedown for awhile, but then again, it rewards you
for crashing.
* WW2 or modern style 1st & 3rd person shooters. Prefer fantasy or sci-fi
settings, so Halo and Bioshock are OK. COD or Army Of Two - not so much.
* Multiplayer/online games. Might be OK playing online with friends, but
most of my RL friends no longer play games on a regular basis, or we
prefer to do something together in person - like play board games. Don't
want to play against some immature punk either.
* MMORPGs. You'd think that since I'm a big RPG fan, this would be a
natural extension and in some ways you could be right. For the most part,
I got the whole MMORPG thing out of my system while I was in college
playing MUDs. And today's MMORPGs just don't appeal to me for some reason.
* Stealth games like Thief or MGS. I'm not a "sneak around" kind of
gamer. I much prefer to go through the front door, guns blazing.
Stealth, shmealth. What's the point of having weapons if you're penalized
for using them?
* GTA series. Amazing design, but I'm not into playing a criminal punk.
(Which really makes me sad that there probably won't be a Crackdown
sequel...)

So basically you're a loud, clumsy, out-of-shape, law-abiding
pedestrian who lives in his own fantasy world.

I bought the GTA III/Vice City double pack for the og xbox. put about 10-15
hours into GTA III before the novelty wore off, the controls (unable to
invert vertical?!?!?!?) got on my nerves, and running over pedestrians lost
its charm. never even popped in Vice City, as I figured it to be more of
the same. looks like they made some enhancements with San Andreas and GTA
IV, but the core still appears to be the same lame game. >> Stay informed about: popular 360 games you just don't care about |

Hey now, I'm just vehicularly impaired, not clusmy overall
As for living in a fantasy world, isn't that one of the points of gaming
in the first place?

I thought the first game in the modernized series was pretty good. It
was a solid foundation upon which to build a franchise. Vice City was
much better in every way. San Andreas's story and acting wasn't as
good but the game added so much to the series that it was overall a
better game.
The novelty has never worn off for me... or for the millions and
millions of players who made this pound-for-pound the most successful
gaming franchise in history and will make this next iteration one of
the most successful games in this generation (it may be tough to
overcome the Halo 3 hype).
I can't get enough of running over pedestrians or doing insane stunts.
This will be even more fun in a more realistic world that's actually
to scale. I can't wait to take a running leap off the top of the
Empire State Building (assuming they... hopefully... allow it). >> Stay informed about: popular 360 games you just don't care about |

Of course... if you take "fantasy world" to mean "not the exact world
you're living in" instead of "I'm a kill me some goblins." >> Stay informed about: popular 360 games you just don't care about |

The artist who created Dragonball Z did the character designs for Blue
Dragon. He's also done the designs for the Dragon Quest games, and Chrono
Trigger. So it's no surprise you saw a resemblance.
