Archived from groups: alt>games>microsoft>flight-sim (more info?)

I am a new member here.I have alot of airplane time but I am not
terribly sharp when it comes to my PC. I am using the 737-400 in my
Microsoft Flight 2002 sim.I would like to get the 737 600/700 from
PMDG but I am not getting a straight answer from them as to whether
this is compatable with MS 2002.When I go to try to buy it it says
that this product is only compatable with Flight 9.1.I have never
heard of 9.1 and I am not sure what it is.I thought I was purchasing
an ad on for MS 2002.Is there something else I have to buy? I have
tried emailing PMDG about this and they responded a few days later but
they didnt answer my question.
I am wondering if any of you on this list have tried any PMDG products
as ad ons to the MS 2002 and how do they work (Are they realistic or
arcade like)? Is their customer service always this bad?Are there
other companies that have a 737NG sim product.Any help would be
appreciated
N. Turk

It isn't.

Flight Simulator 9.1 is just another name for Flight Simulator 2004 with the
update patch (FS 2004 without the patch is referred to sometimes as FS 9 or
FS9).

Not on FS 2002, but I use their PMDG 737-800 and 747-400 on FS 2004 and they
are fabulous add-ons, among the best around. If you want large Boeing
airliners with uncompromising realism, PMDG is the first place to look for
them.

The closest competitor is Level-D, but the two companies generally publish
different add-ons for different Boeing aircraft, so there is only a slight
overlap.

> Is their customer service always this bad?

It's very small and has a reputation for not being too cooperative, especially
if you have anything negative to say about the product.

I'd be spending the $25 and buy FS2004. Problem solved.

I've seen FS 2004 for $15. The price is very low now that FSX is out.

LOL to answer what CL left out.

FS2004 is FS9 The big MS in its kindness of its heart had made an update to
this to bring the FS9 up to FS9.1 thank you very much. :þ

Since its now old and the new version is out (Which by the way Officially is
Ten). Which I dont really count as but what do I know. Thats why I and a
couple of others refer to the new version as FSUX. Just to piss the guys
off that always have to get the New Version of everything no matter what,
bugs and all.

Welcome to the group and our little corner of the net. If you want add-ons
to your FS2K2 just look into the Libraries of www.Avsim.com and also
www.Flightsim.com and just keep an eye out for the models that you need.
Keep in mind that it is outdated. The scenery files will need an Afcad
file. The Afcad files for 2K2 are different from the newer versions of both
FS9.1 and also the FSX.

I have that very a/c ie the 737-600/700 from PMDG. I got it in its early
days and can confirm that it works in FS2002. Later patches upgraded it to
FS9
