I just got a Toshiba Satelite notebook with a widescreen display. I
installed UT 99 on it, then went to set the resolution for the
display, but the only settings in the list were for extra tall
screens. Is there such a thing as an extra tall screen?

How do I set the resolution so UT looks normal on this screen and not
stretched out. I looked for the FAQ, but see Meltdown doesn't host it
anymore, and wasn't able to find any other useful faq.

Any help is appreciated.

You can go into the UnrealTournament.ini and find the argument for
screen resolution and manually set it to whatever native widescreen res
your laptop is at.

That would be:

[WinDrv.WindowsClient]
WindowedViewportX=768
WindowedViewportY=579
WindowedColorBits=32
FullscreenViewportX=1024
FullscreenViewportY=768
FullscreenColorBits=32

and I want to change the fullscreen lines?

Thanks.

Yup, give that a shot. Not entirely sure if it will work but I imagine
this would be the only way to do it if it is possible.

Also, there are other lines similar to that in there. Make sure you
change the one according to what display adapter you're using; I.E.
OpenGL, Glide, Direct3D, Software, etc.
