Thank you for the reply, I may give it a try.

Thanks for the heads-up. I can't wait for this to be released.

So many games, so little time!

Ah, Command & Conquer Renegade. What a tragic loss of potential. Had
the developers followed through on their initial concept of putting
your character INTO a C&C warzone -as they attempted to do in the
first couple of levels- the game would have been much better.
Unfortunately, it very quickly devolved into a one-guy
-against-the-world corridor shooter. Brain dead AI and a poorly
optimized graphics engine just sealed its fate.

I rather enjoyed The Longest Journey when I played it some years back,
but it takes such a gosh-darn long time to get to the good parts that
when I try to replay I give up after an hour or two. Babysitting a
moping teenage artist through future-town just isn't all that much
fun, despite all the portentious dreams and omens. One day I hope to
grind my way through the beginning despite the boredom and get to the
real meat of the game again, but right now I just have too much on my
board as it is..

Oh, thank God; somebody that plays as many games as I do. I was
starting to feel like a loser no-life (really, I *do* have a life and
friends!) dilettante gamer.

But damn it, in this era of 10-hour games, it's easy to whip through a
dozen a month with no real effort!

Reminds me of Joey in 'Friends':

"It is a love based of giving and receiving as well as having and sharing.
And the love that they give and have is shared and received. And through
this having and giving and sharing and receiving, we too can share and love
and have... and receive".

I miss 'Friends'.

Honestly mate, it'll be well worth it.

The game is verbose, but if you can get it to it - you'll be rewarded with a
gripping, if epic, yarn.

I'm envious that you have the chance to play it for the first time. Sadly I
will have to wait a couple of years for the onset of senility to allow me
that pleasure.

'Runaway' is another large adventure of a similar quality story, puzzles,
and dialogue.

He needs to hurry up and do it very soon.

in April (2006)

You mistook me. I've already played the game. It was an enjoyable
romp, with an engaging story. It just takes forever to get started.

Although frankly sometimes I wanted to just smack the protagonist
around a bit; she was so mopey. I prefer my escapist entertainment to
be more epic and less filled with anst-driven melodrama.
