Hi
In a battlegound this morning we found a player in three identical versions.
Same name and the middel one seemed to be the leader. When the leader
attacked the two others did the same thing almost simultaniously.
What's that??

Multiboxing, they'll be using slightly different names, probably only one
character different. Basically it's one player with multiple accounts,
running multiple copies of the game and playing them all at once using
macros (and probably some software/hardware to allow their keyboard to be
active in all copies of the game at once)
Seems to be getting more popular of late, the other day I was in an AV with
2 different multiboxers, each controlling 4 characters, and there's several
different ones that I've seen around my server, too.

It's called multiboxing. Someone owns multiple accounts and uses
hardware or software to control multiple characters at once.
If you look closely you might find the names looked the same but had a
slight difference, they'd have to be if they were from the same
server. On the other hand, the person behind them may have created
them all on different servers, but it's unlikely. >> Stay informed about: Same player tripeled? |

Thanks for explaining. Does someone really level up three different toons -
in this case lvl19 - just to be able to do this trick? Well - yes, somebody
do, I suppose ...
regrads

Well they can level the characters together this way, so it's not much
different to levelling one character, just you're in a permanent group.
Haven't done it myself but a friend levelled 2 characters dualbox, and went
at basically the same speed he would've done solo - the shared experience
and needing to get quest drops twice slowed it a little, but being 2 he
could kill faster.

They won't, they've said many times it's not against any rules so long as
the characters are all being controlled by the player. Seems a little weird
seeing multiboxers, it's a pretty unusual way to play the game, but if
people are having fun, why not I'm impressed by anyone who can multibox
different classes though, I saw a bunch on my server, 4 characters, all
different classes, forget which, but it's got to be a challenge figuring
out how to manage all the different spells and abilities!

I haven't tried it for combat, but it's great for crafting and trading. Or
to drag a lowbie through unsoloable quests like those in instances. >> Stay informed about: Same player tripeled? |
