Anybody here still play JA?

I'm actually seasonal when it comes to the games I play - I've got so
much stuff, I have to schedule it. JA is my game of choice from
Thanksgving through New years. I've been playing the stock game as of
late though last winter played the "Escape from Yavin" mod...or at
least tried to. It was so much harder than the basic game. Currently,
I'm waiting on completion of a "Dark Forces" for JA mod.

Where did you post it? If it was posted on one of those Jedi Knight
sites, they keep stats on various files including frequency of download.

Here as in Usenet? That would explain why I don't see it - I don;t
read these groups on a newsreader, just google-groups. Yeah, I know
I'm clueless - I don't even know why it's wrong. Anyway, if you want
to really post something, why not go to one of those Jedi sites like
Massassi? That way, people who frequently use the Jedi games are more
likely to see it, and the site can keep stats as to how popular the
download is.

I haven't downloaded much - like I said, I've been waiting for a Dark
Forces adaptation for so long, I'd even take one for the first Jedi
Knight game.

It's a continuation of the storyline in which Jaden had turned to the
dark side. She then went up against some Sith and lost, becomin a
prisoner on Yavin IV. The Sith suddenly become all powerful - able to
appear out of thin air. Back on Yavin, a freak accident releases
Jaden, who tries to...Escape from Yavin!!

That's all I can say because I haven't gotten that far. The Sith in
this game are brutal - it's a step back to Jedi Outcast in terms of
difficulty, and I finally gave up...but not before I went back to play
the final JA map, just to make sure I wasn't osing my touch. I hadn't
- I was even able to get rid of Allura in the final pre-boss mode.

Looks like I'm waiting for the DF TC.

Well... I have only seen 1 part out of the 11 (?) files you posted here.

Fatcat is right, though. More users frequent other Jedi sites like Massassi.

So far, AFAIK, there are two adaptations,
one for the first Dark Forces and another one to
re-adapt the Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight game.
Both of them seem a bit far away... they have done tremendous job at least
for now.
Let us hope so that both games will be released eventually.

There doesn't seem to be anything else really worth playing for (as in a
huge mod like a game)...
or expecting for...

You mean the Yavin mod? I recall that it came with a pretty simple
readme file that explained what to do - unfortunately, the side-effect
is that my character-bots have been screwed up - characters appear in
the stock game with the wrong skins. Also, the mod itself is pretty
damn hard, but that's not likely a flaw of the install.
