Archived from groups: alt>games>video>nintendo>animal-crossing (more info?)

You guys! Write something! I do not own this newsgroup! I'm not even
vaguely interested!

I know that SOMEONE else has to playing this game...Why am I the only
person posting?

Anyway, not that I think you care, but my real-life is picking up.
Looks like I have a job. I might even be able to buy some food soon...

SPOILERS START NOW

So I got Nookington's. Almost certainly (wait, now TOTALLY certain)
because of my guest. It's great. The nephews are back. The hairdresser
is completely new, however.

Harriett. Did I spell that right? I'm not checking.

MASSIVE SPOILERS START NOW

You can't get the "haircut" you want. At least not until "brave" ACWW
Time Travellers figure out *what-in-the-world* her questionaire
means...My "primary" character is, natch, Thom...And nobody experiments
on Thom. But I have two, er, functionaries, Friday and Saturday...So I
sent them in. Friday answered all her questions precisely as I would in
my real-life...And came out with a cut fit for a kindergardener. Helmet
hair. I am trying to pretend it's a pageboy cut. (Love that on young
women!) But I can't quite manage to believe it. It's just a bad
haircut.

So I tried again with Saturday, answering all the questions the exact
opposite way. And got another bad haircut. This time, bright pink.
ARRRGH. Thom is not happy. And Thom is not going anywhere _near_ that
poodle till he figures out what he's going to look like. I know that I
could (quite literally) put a hat on it, but I have had bad haircuts in
my real-life, and I am not going to suffer them in a stupid game.

MINOR SPOILERS RESUME

I managed to stay up for K.K. last night. First song, Go K.K. Rider!,
one of my old favs, and I got it randomly! Tried a request with Friday,
but it didn't work (same as the GC process...typos...). Saturday
snagged my second (random) tune, so at least I'm moving on. Graphics
for K.K. Credits are MUCH, MUCH better. I was impressed.

I now have a growing Coconut Palm. You'll recall, I accidentally killed
my last one. Anyway, another coconut washed up on Saturday (same as
last week...automatic?) and I managed to plant it correctly this time.
It's on it's 2nd stage of growth now, so I'm very, very happy. Go into
the bug museum. See the palms. Work out the math.

My six apple trees are now grown. YAY! I'll plant some more tonight.

My 598K loan is now at 175K. I'll probably get it down to less than
100K tonight--after which, I start the Death Fish March. I'm slow with
big mortgages, but once I get within striking distance, I'm relentless.
Fish fish fish! Must sell fish! I only stop after I start getting
stupid and start throwing back red snapper...

Lyle stopped by yesterday, set up Redd's day (tomorrow) and sold me my
second insurance policy. 6K this time. I don't believe a word he says,
especially after what Redd did to last time. But I'm playing along...

Sow Joan stopped by this morning (I'm amazed I managed to wake up) and
I snagged another pack of red turnip seeds. Didn't plant them--still
trying to figure out how they work.

The first ACWW FAQs are now up at Gamefaqs. When I absolutely *NEED* to
know something I do a "find word" search on them. But I don't need to
know very much at all, and I'm enjoying the game as it is, without
knowing how it works. It's not like I have to obesess over how to beat
the final boss...In fact, I can TELL you how to beat the final boss...
"Hi Nook! Yes, I'm going fishing right now."

Although, I have stumbled across some things that I would have rather
not known. Apparently, there is some kind of weird Zelda-style trading
game. I read the first two steps before I managed to dump the FAQ. Once
I start reading things I don't want to know, I dump the page, so I'm
not *sure* this is the case, but...

I think we have the avian bird flu in my village. I had to nurse my
second patient back to life today.

Anyway, I'm outta here. Wanna visit? thomforesta.RemoveThis@yahoo.com

Just a note about one of your other posts - This is David from D-Town by the
way...

on 12/15/2005 you wrote,

"...My best guess is that my host/guest had
WiFied at least once before, with a person who had done the same, and
I'm getting a varied selection of all the things done by all the people
who have ever networked together...."

I hadn't WiFied (in AC:WW) except to get a friend code before your visit to
me and my visit to you. You are the only person I have connected to so far.
I have entered a couple of other friend codes I found on this newsgroup,
but, I have never connected to any of them other than you, so, since it
seems like you are getting some triggers from others, it makes me wonder if
just having the gate open will trigger some things from other players on the
friends list that don't even visit your village ??? -- Just a thought. --
What if a bottle or a trigger could come from two players connected to the
WiFi at the same time with each other on the list even if they were not in
each other's village ??? That would be interesting !

I am glad to know that your real life is picking up ! -- ACWW is fun and I
liked visiting your village, but, real life is what counts !

Since your visit to my town, I paid off my loan for the first time and now
have upgraded to 'Nook-N-Go' -- I bought a painting from Redd and donated it
to the Museum. -- Today, I got the message that the Fishing Turney was
comming, but, I never saw him anywhere. I didn't start playing until late
so I probably missed him this time around. I will have to catch him next
time. I put a girl in my village named 'Crystal', I mostly did this just to
get the save space, I can put a bunch of stuff in her save spot just to hold
it. I am thinking about putting two more (1 boy and 1 girl) just to have
all the save space open for me to use. I was just playing around and found
out that each one I add gets there own friend list and there own friend
code. That means that if I want to control another character and visit
another town I have to have the town put the new friend code in as well or I
can't use that character in the town. I didn't expect that. By the way,
your bottle did finally wash up on my beach.

Sometimes when I am playing I open my gate just to see if someone will see
it open and come in. Since only the people on the friend list can come in
[ there is only 3 codes I have entered (all from this group) ] and I am
playing the game while the gate is open, I think I am safe in doing that.
If you see my gate open you can come in for a visit.

I will be trying to pay off my morage a second time so I can get an even
bigger house. I don't get to play it as much as I like because of real life
stuff, so, I am going very slow, but I will get there after a time.

Hey Thom! I will put down at the bottom info about the Red Turnips if you
want to know. But I just got the game and haven't tried it yet.
And GameFAQs has a haircut mini faq. I still doubt that any of them are
good haircuts, but each answer leads to a different question and eventual
outcome.

You have to water the Red Turnips once a day every day (for a week I think).
But they sell for lots.
