I played this game for the first time in years th other day. (I havent had
much chance to play it for the last few years as i only had it on the Sega
Saturn and mine broke a while back)
I really enjoyed trying to keep a straight face during the multiple
conversastions with the ever intresting Barry.
I was most impressed by the conversastion in the lab, as you meet Wesker and
all is revealed. (To be honest i had forgotten most of what was said, and
was literally rolling round on the floor with laughter at Jill and Barry)
This game is pure comical genious and should be enjoyed by all.
Now to complete the game on Directors cut mode instead of the original.

Sounds like you only played Jill's game. Play Chris' game for truly
comic value. Rebecca's dialogue is so bad that my first few "serious"
Chris games were aborted to replay Jills again.
Out of all the characters in RE (Outbreaks #1 and #2 excluded - haven't
played them yet) Rebecca is the character that gets the most noticeable
personality change going from the PS original to the GC RE:make.
I also find it funny that in RE0 Rebecca is a hard arse monster slaying
heroine, but then arrives at the RE:make stage of the plotline and
becomes a shrieking girly victim.
I find myself wondering whether more characters are schizophrenic "by
accident".
Cheers,
Rob

Intresting point you have about rebecca there. I remember the dialougue
being even worse on Chris' scenario, but i just had to play as jill 1st,
just to reminisce over the Barry of old. >> Stay informed about: RE the original |

I must confess that, even though I have the Gamecube REmake, I still
love going back to my Playstation original, if only for the hilarious
dialog. It isn't as if the voice actors have any noticable accent, but
it's clear they don't really grasp the natural rhythms of the English
language. That or they're simply awful actors! Not that they had a lot
to work with, the script is truly dreadful. It's hard to be scared when
you're laughing so hard!

Perhaps, after the long ordeal of trudging through throngs of mutated beasts
she was simply too tired to carry those hard earned goodies all the way over
to the isolated creepy looking mansion she was glancing at. It is also
possible that Billy stole them. He is a criminal after all.
I had never thought of "what happened to her weapons". I only wondered why
her combat skills had degraded. Capcom obviously didn't keep a personality
continuity with her!

It's a little known fact that Rebecca Chambers was actually eaten by a
rogue leech zombie before she reached the second mansion. The person
who joined Chris in his adventure was actually her evil twin sister,
Roberta Chambers, who was masquerading as Rebecca in order to avoid jury
duty. While Rebecca had some combat training (not to mention her ordeal
in the train, mansion, and lab), Roberta was actually an accountant with
only the first aid training she'd gotten taking a class at the Y on the
weekends.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it (until the narcotic painkillers
wear off, anyway).
