orange here again cant play the sim1 at all grrr sigh

my computer must be worn or something , used to be able to play the sims1
on this computer which is win98 with 500 mh and 384 ram and geoforce
soemthing. i did put on highspeed on my computer and ever since it been
crazy.

i see the monitor and it got media files or video or reg webpages or
whatever on there , it would freeze or something , then i see glitter or
sparkels on the edges of things like letters would sparkes glitter that
when i know it nto working right. just not sure what kind of sympton it is
.. has anyone ever encounter this. i did get the comptujer cleaned so
it works better now. i can get the game installed and when i started it
stops at sorting chicanory then it wont go more . i wonder is it mother
board , graphic problems , i miss the sims now more than when i couldnt

Sims1 was always rather delicate. Right now, for me, it works exactly
half the time, exactly half. It seems like saving and exiting messes it
up, but trying to start (and failing) fixes it.

Sometimes the number of downloads is critical. Rename two .iff files to
..iffx and perhaps it will start; or download two more .iff files and
perhaps it will start. (this sounds like a joke, but it's really true).
