I've just had to reformat the HD and reinstall all my software, and now
I can't get online with UT2004. Every time I click on 'Join Game', the
game crashes a couple of seconds afterwards and I have no choice but to
reset. The offline game plays fine though :s

I installed the game, patched to 3321, then installed the ECE pack, then
patched to 3355. I haven't installed the Community Bonus Packs... could
this be the problem?

Any ideas anyone?

Hah! I do, although as a newbie to Linux, I haven't attempted to get any
Windoze progs running in it yet. I tried Ubuntu, then PCLinuxOS, which I
seem to prefer.

Why would you *want* to get any windoze progs running...?

There is a native Linux version of UT2004, ya know...

I didn't know that. I doubt I'll be buying the Linux version though,
with the release of UT2007 approaching.
I presume the Linux version runs better than the Windows version running
in WINE?
Anyone here play Windows UT in Linux?

Dude. You don't have to buy it. It's already on your CD's.

The Linux version runs better than the Windoze version running in Windoze.

Well I finally managed to get back online. Wanna know how I did it? I
built a new PC!
I'm just hoping it's of a good enough spec to handle UT2007 ok. What do
you think?

Core 2 Duo E6400
MSI 975X Platinum Power Up Edition mobo
nVidia 9700GS
1 gb ddr2 ram

Will it do?

Hmmm. I think the 9700GS is an integrated graphics chip intended for
notebooks. If so, that's bad news for the OP.
