You could just use the career reward that prolongs life, you know, the
thing with the green liquid. Each dose makes them live 3 days longer, but
be careful that their aspiration is gold when they drink it or the effect
might reverse.

Thank you.

If you want to use the elixir and don't mind a little cheating. There is a
way to make their aspiration gold or platinum without actually increasing
their aspiration points.
1. <ctrl><shift><c>
2. boolprop testingcheatsenabled true
3. select the Sim
4. <shift>'left click' on the Sim
5. search the menu for 'aspiration' and click on it (if it is not there -
as different game versions have moved it about - click on spawn and go to
instruction
6. search this menu for 'max' and click on it - your Sim now has platinum
aspiration and can use any reward object with impunity
7. this instruction is a place holder to separate the first lot of
instructions from what to do if they couldn't work.
8. spawn 'tombstone of L & D' and then go back and follow the instructions
to spawn 'sim modder'
9. search the menu's of these objects for the 'aspiration' and 'max' options
and click them when/if you find them.

Well, if you have Nightlife you could use the Sim Modder to age your

You don't have to register. If you haven't found out how to download
it yet, here's how:
On the left of the site you'll find a row of icons, click on the
multipainting one (the one with half a face on it), this will bring up
a large picture of the multipainting, click on the red text "Multi
Painting" below the picture and you can download it. >> Stay informed about: I don't want my sims getting older |

Another way of doing this came with Nightlife. Bring up the cheat box
(ctrl+shift+c) and type "aspirationLevel 5" without the quotation marks.
Instant platinum. You can use any number between 0 to 5, with 0 being deep
into red, and 5 being platinum. Will work if you have NL installed, not sure
if it carried over into OFB if you don't have NL.
Also, if you use debug mode ("boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true"), you can
shift click on the wants and they will roll through to the next lot and you
will be granted the associated aspiration points. Shift-clicking power wants
(the ones with the thick blue border) also grants you the influence points
associated. The fears also roll at the same time, but I don't know if they
affect the number of aspiration points awarded. It doesn't seem to affect it
much anyway, as the number deducted for fears is usually less than those
added for wants. Roll through a few times and you get to platinum pretty
quickly. Just remember that for debug mode to kick in, you have to type the
command in neighbourhood view or exit then re-enter the lot. It does not
kick in immediately.

Are you asking about the meaning of the word 'modder'? It is an abbreviation
of modifier. A thing used to modify with - to change with.

The meaning of modder was explained in another message but it isn't in
my dictionary either. The Sim Modder is a cheat built into the game.
To find it, hold down the control, shift and C keys at the same time.
Type boolprop testingcheats enabled true and press enter.
Hold down the shift key while you click on a sim with the left mouse
button, this will give you a menu, select the option called "spawn"
and somewhere on that menu you'll find the Sim Modder.
When you then click on the Sim Modder you'll find an option to set the
Sim's age.
Of course, if your game is not in English these options and the Sim
Modder are probably called something else. >> Stay informed about: I don't want my sims getting older |

The problem I have with that particular cheat is that I don't usually
want to reset the sim back to the beginning of the adult cycle. I just
want to add a few days to their life span, and without taking the time
ingame to have them drink the elixir or catch a townie with the cow
plant. That's why I like Merola's Multi-Painting so much. It gives you
the option of adding or subtracting days to a sim's life in either 1, 3,
or 10 day increments. With sims having a child about to turn teen who
are inches from elderhood themselves, 6 or 7 days seems to be about
right (to me). I really don't mind them being elders when they take the
child off to college.

It will make your sim go instant platinum right then, but will wear off over
time, like normal.
The only way to make it stay is to then type "lockAspiration on", which will
freeze aspiration decay, then "lockAspiration off" to may it get lower
again.
