Archived from groups: rec>games>trading-cards>jyhad (more info?)

There will be a real tournament report shortly (it's being compiled by
our official scribe) but I wanted to mention that we had something like
25 or 26 players and a handful of already qualified players placing 5
qualifying spots up for grabs. We had a bit of a sprinkle on Friday
evening but by Saturday we had some fantastic California weather.

We were graced by the presence of Stefan Ferenci who had sneakily
arranged to attend some kind of medical conference in Los Angeles so he
could attend the event. Other out of state travelers were the David and
Robyn Tatu from Atlanta and Kevin Mergen and Nat Hammond from Los
Vegas. We had one gentlemen who only found our website just 4 days
before the event during one of those google searches that began with "I
wonder if anybody still plays that old Jyhad game I own?" The visitors
made up for a bunch of notable locals that had schedule conflicts and
couldn't attend.

The newly qualified players that I recall (still suffering from brain
fog) were Matt Kanninen (Los Angeles), Ron Darbee (San Diego, CA), and
David Tatu (Atlanta, GA). I think Matt Wedge from Los Angeles grabbed
another of those spots. Mike Courtois hosted the events at his V:TES
Palace and also qualified as the event organizer. I'll add the name of
the other qualifier (and confirm Wedge as a qualifier) as the fog
lifts...

I think it was Ira Fay grabbing the other qualifying spot.

I am glad to hear that David Tatu qualified. I believe that 3 is the
charm. Smile

(still feeling guilty for David not qualifying at the Lafayette, LA
qualifier)
