Werenecklace

The necklace grants the following at all times:

+4 Strength

+4 Constitution

+4 Natural Armor

At night, the wearer turns into a werewolf whose primary goal is to infect
others with lycanthropy. Those bitten by the werewolf must make a Fortitude
save (20) or be infected with the disease. The wearer has +4 Charisma with
those that he infects with lycanthropy even when not in were-form. While in
were-form, the wearer has Weapon Finesse (Bite) and DR 15/Silver. Neither
the wearer nor his followers are aware of their were status or activities
while in were-form.

Once donned, the necklace cannot be removed until slain or a remove curse is
cast by a 15th level caster. The necklace takes on a different form each
time it leaves an owner. Some forms include: a spiked iron collar, a
jeweled necklace, a silk scarf, and a simple rope.

If you identify it, do you know what it does? If you can, you can just
lock yourself in a cage every night and get a free +4 Amulet of Natural
Armor/Strength/Health. What's its cost?

Good point. It can't be identified or detected. Its intention is to cause
random chaos (redundant?) around unwitting wearers. IMC I had it in the
form of the spiked collar. The wearer had received it when he was held
captive by some kobold slavers. In his mind, he continued to wear it as a
badge of honor that he had survived and escaped. He assumed the bonuses
were the result of his years of hard labor. Perhaps, instead of saying
cannot be removed, I should also say that the wearer convinces himself it
should not be removed.

You get a +4 bonus to strength, and *Weapon Finesse* (which in 3.5
applies to *all* finesseable weapons, not just a single one btw). Odds
are very good you'd never apply finesse, given the bump to strength.

Interesting flavor text, I suppose, but doesn't really seem to be a
significant limitation on the object. It'd make a good curse on it, I
suppose, but it wouldn't reduce cost at all.

+4 Str 16,000
+4 Con 16,000
+4 Natural Armor 32,000
------
64,000

The 'amulet' slot has an affinity for protection, so the +4 natural
armor fits. The bumps to Str and Con don't match the affinity, so get a
50% increase[1], and another 50% increase because they are additional
effects in a single item[2], for 100% increase:

+4 Str (+surcharge) 32,000
+4 Con (+surcharge) 32,000
+4 Natural Armor 32,000
------
96,000

[1] RAW
[2] this may only be supposed to apply to *one* of the buffs because
'+4 natural armor' and '+4 ability' can be considered 'unrelated
effects'... but I don't believe so and am charging it.

DR15/silver is pretty nice DR in 3.5 (not as nice in 3.0 since magic
trumps material... but that is not so in 3.5) and the Weapon Finesse
feat would be, as I said, more or less useless anyway... I'm willing to
say that the curse pays for the DR.

So, looks like a 96,000gp cursed item.

Ah. I was thinking it was a necklace that, during nights of the full
moon, turned into something else, say, a wolf-hair stole or a
wolf-tooth pendant, or some such.

This is a wicked cursed item! The amnesia of were-activities is a
nessisary touch
because *Knowing* that info ruins the intent of the curse.

Does lifting the curse on the leader negate the were-status of his
followers?

That would be boring, much more entertaining to have a bunch of
were-followers feeling betrayed and determined to 'fix' things.
